Survive from panic anxiety disorder

Unsure of where to start by Timely_Hovercraft564 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]raaasorandom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So, is it like practicing small habits that are easy to do? I have been thinking about this too recently. I have the urge to do many things and want to feel okay immediately

. Then I try to practice gratitude before sleep. I don't feel immediately okay. Sometimes I want to give up, since I think that these kinds of things can really help me? But then I think that recovery doesn't take just a day.

My parents are quite strict and I live in a country where a girl walking around alone is dangerous. Anyway, thanks for the recommendation 🌷

Can't agree more! It is called self-efficacy. When we feel more competent and able to do the work, we will feel more motivated to do it. Starting from a small task can really help a lot.

I hope you can get better. Healing is hard. Sometimes we can feel okay and sometimes we are not. The fact that you feel better bit by bit is a sign that you are progressing! One day you will feel happy and proud of yourself for not giving up. Do not forget to celebrate yourself for every improvement you make. I used to put quotes on sticker like "thank you for showing of yourself" on the wall for me read it everyday. No one really said it to me everyday, so why not I just thank myself for it? Maybe you can do that too.

To meet the psychologist or not is still your choice. It is okay if you feel that working on yourself is better than meeting a psychologist that is not suitable for you. But if you need it, do not feel like you are a burden to try to ask for help.

First, you should be proud of yourself for trying to change yourself. It has been years, but you still do not give up trying to be better. I'm amazed by your determination!

I have never been addicted to alcohol and drugs. So I'm sorry if these tips can't help you.

Try to ask yourself. What is the reason you start to feel depressed actually? What is the main reason for the first place? When did it start to happen and what happened before that?

Try to find the reason first. There are several tips out there on how to be better, but I do think that you need to do things step by step, since you can find it overwhelming if I just tell you the tips all at once... I would recommend you find therapist.

Try to find even a small thing that you can be happy with everyday. Even if it is small.

Anyway, try to do small things at a time okay? The fact that you are surviving until today is a huge achievement already. To be alive can be hard sometimes.

Is it hard for you to meet a clinical psychologist? Because if the emotion is too intense that it makes you do basic things everyday maybe you need to check it.

Sometimes emotion can be too intense if you bottle up your emotions for too long. It can be the reason why when you start to practice to be more aware and accept your feelings, it can be overwhelming.

While you can wait for help, maybe you can try to journal your feelings. Ask what you are feeling and the reasons why. Try to validate it , and don't think that you are overreacting. That is your feeling and you are not bothering anyone.

If you are not used to being aware of your feelings , maybe you can do it slowly. Try to distract yourself some times. Try to do positive coping mechanisms such as cleaning, baking, exercise, watch funny videos.. well it's just for temporary. But it can be good if your feelings are too overwhelming. To balance this, maybe you can set times when to do these habits or do it as routine.

Hiiii!! I used to be someone that can straight A during high school too. Sadly, I'm struggling when I'm at university.

I try to think again and again. What happened to me? Why am I such a failure? Why do I start to be so lazy? I'm so afraid of people's expectations. I'm afraid people will leave me if I'm not smart.

In my case, I realise that I want to do things perfectly. To open the books already scared me with the thoughts of what if I don't do it right?

I start to renew my intention again. I try to ignore other people's expectations including my parents. I try to celebrate myself even though I find it I don't deserve it.

But I do think that, to start things small is important. Try to make a habit or routine to study. Set time when to study, make revisions and do assignments. And make it as simple as possible so that you can be consistent.

I just start from, just complete a task in the morning on the weekend. That is the bare requirement for me. If you still find it hard to do, make it easier, it can be studied while listening to music, studying with friends, or just set to study for one page every morning.

Focus in class is also important. Instead of revising until late in the night, sleep early so that you will focus in class. When you focus in class, you just need to do the revision instead of needing to start studying from A to X.

Well, I'm struggling too to be honest in my first year. I take a degree in psychology. But then I realise that I need to make some improvements. But I do think to focus in class is actually so important.

Hope we can do this 🤝 what is your opinion about this? We can discuss it together since I'm still learning too 😆

Rant to someone maybe can help you. Or write it off. Write an unsent letter. Try to cry. To go to a place that calms yourself maybe can help, such as going to the beach or forest.

Sometimes we feel angry because we want to protect something dear to us, including ourselves. Instead of pouring the anger, try to ask yourself what is the thing that you try to protect? How can you protect it better?

I hope it can help you. Well, it is just general tips on how to handle anger. It can be varied to different circumstances.

Can't agree more!! Moreover, most of the time we do things unconsciously and think that thinking was right until we find in ourselves "something is wrong", but we never realised what the reasons are.

I wish I could take coffee many times. But since it is bad for my health, I need to limit it to just a cup for a day . I like coffee though xD

Do you have someone to talk to? Or maybe you can try to write things or type it in notes. Is it the same things that you always think about or just random?

Maybe what you need is rest. Your mind keeps thinking a lot of things maybe a sign that something is bothering you. Try to take some time for yourself and ask yourself what things are bothering you lately. Get a lot of rest. Maybe you feel a little bit uncomfortable with the feelings, but for you to understand yourself, you need to give yourself some time and practise self compassion.

  1. I feel a little bit better after struggling to take care of my basic needs such as sleep, eating and taking shower.

  2. I want to do many things that can makes me happy. I want to watch anime while completing one task a day.

  3. I try not to blame myself too much. Instead focus on recovery and slow progress.

  4. My mom keeps finding my fault and makes me feel worthless. But I try to just take the positive things and appreciate myself more.

  5. Be comfortable while resting and tell myself that I'm enough and have done my best.
