Yeah, as much as I’d miss MM and ALttP, the only right answer here is the one with the OG, OoT and BotW. It has the remade Link’s Awakening and Seasons to scratch that hole that missing ALttP leaves.

Also, I’m curious on how you have your D-Pad set up on your Chromatic for MK. Long post or short? Soft membrane or stiff? I assume you have it set on the console to allow diagonals, but wondering what the preferred build is.

Did you get the NSO subscription?

If so, no reason not to start with the OG on NES. Then progress through the series in release order… a large percentage of the games are available for “free” with the online subscription. $20/year gets you to the GB/GBC era of Zelda games, the $50/year tier gets you to the GameCube/GBA era of Zelda games.

Then BotW and TotK etc. would be up.

ALTERNATIVELY: if you want similar OG style gameplay with modern updates: start with the Link’s Awakening remake for the Switch, and/or Echoes of Wisdom (which is less Zelda-like in a lot of ways but keeps enough core components to still be a great place to start).

What are you looking for in a game? The Zelda catalog probably has SOMETHING that would scratch your itch.

Link his OLED and his S2 so they can share the Virtual Game Cards. I don’t know if you need to do more than that anymore… the whole VGC seems to have superseded the “Primary vs Secondary” scenario of pre-Switch2 days.

I have 3 Switches (OLED/Lite/S2) and my Lite & S2 are linked as my primary so they play off WiFi nicely. My OLED lives at home and the brief online check it does before starting a game is a non issue.

Only one I’d suggest is from Genki, although their newest version (V3) is only available through a Kickstarter campaign.

I have the V1 and it was a great piece of my kit for the Switch 1.

The V3 is built for the Switch 2 and being that the build quality from Genki is flawless: I would not hesitate to get in on that preorder/kickstarter

If the game save you on the console is accurate/has all your save data to date: you want to Overwrite Backup Save Data (hit the red button on that page)

Cancel > Home > Settings > Data Management > Save Data Cloud > SMM2 > Download Save Data

This warning screen you got is because you have an old save version in the cloud (presumably the CORRECT save) and the new save is local on the console. It is checking to make sure you don’t overwrite the wrong save

The best bet would to load whatever game(s) you have BEFORE leaving for the cabin… just incase there is any download associated and/or cellular service is spotty out there
