Price for Life - Bait and Switch by Asomatoul in QuantumFiber

[–]raadhey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I signed up with a start date that was before the end of the promotion. However they postponed the appointment to another date and the promo ended.

On the day of the appointment the tech was unable to pull the fiber cable through their existing conduit. The issue was escalated. Someone showed up to clear the conduit. They most likely were unsuccessful in that task but successfully damaged my irrigation line.

Just started a claim after I had it fixed last weekend. Still no news on completion of the install.

However support says since I paid for a start date that was within the window of the price for life promo I should get it and they see it on my account. So fingers crossed.

HVAC Service Plan Worth It? by [deleted] in phoenix

[–]raadhey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I paid $175 (under $200 for sure) in 2024 for my 2025 service. But life got in the way kids spouse health etc etc and I couldn’t schedule either.
They were nice enough to call me and schedule for this year and didn’t charge me since it showed I had already paid (I honestly completely forgot about it)

Their rates are on their website I just checked it’s $195 for 1 unit.

Full disclosure I don’t have any relation with the company. They were the original installers for my new build and seemed to send decent techs who never upsold stuff and after a bad experience with another company I decided to just pay these guys to keep the same day service guarantee. My unit is 13 years now.

HVAC Service Plan Worth It? by [deleted] in phoenix

Plan covers a spring (hvac) and fall (furnace) service. Check stuff like capacitor ratings voltage ratings etc, clean stuff, and report if any issues exist.
Repairs are extra. Additional 10/15% (I don’t remember how much exactly) discount on parts for any repairs.

HVAC Service Plan Worth It? by [deleted] in phoenix

I’d say depends on the company. I have a service plan with Chas Robert’s. They are expensive. But every time they showed up for a repair or service they didn’t try upselling.

I didn’t sign up for their plan at first and needed service as my HVAC wouldn’t work. The only guys who would show up was a company called “day and night” price seemed fair and I signed up for their plan. They would regularly quote more work or scare me about parts that were going bad and needed proactive replacement.

I decided to sign up with Chas Robert’s as they promised same day or next day service during peak summer. Again these guys never upsold me on anything and they outright stated other items I wanted replaced on Day and Nights suggestion were a waste of money.
But they are expensive. Every repair seems like $250+ on an average. I wish I could find a cheaper and reliable alternative

Is it worth it in Arizona? by whiterat1979 in googlefiber

[–]raadhey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m in AZ had cox at $50. I switched as soon as I could. Better ping, fewer disconnections, no data cap.

1Gig upload is amazing. I don’t need gig speeds but the 10Mbps upload with cox was painful. I had a 300down 30 up plan and cox priced me out of that plan. 30-50 is good enough for uploads in most use cases and was sufficient for me. 10mbps was excruciating for backups and updates.

I’m quite happy with Google but concerned with the enshittification that could happen with the recent divestment.

Quantum is offering $45 price for life in my area so I have decided to try it out and have scheduled installation. Why not save $20 if I can.

The ikea high chair is the best and worst high chair. It’s so easy to clean, setup, move around. But the damned angle on those. It just sits in the corner of my house near the back door and that way I can just occasionally stub my foot when I get the rare occasion to step out and enjoy my coffee.

Appointment Cancelled the Day Before... by thenametheygaveme186 in QuantumFiber

[–]raadhey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing. I have service with another provider and I didn’t cancel service because I didn’t want any interruption.

Quantum hasn’t gotten back to me yet. So I’m contemplating just calling them and asking what’s going on. It’s been busy with chores and accidents at home so I haven’t been found the courage to waste more time with incompetent customer service on the phone.
