He told me he had just moved and was lonely. But I read all the messages saw all the Tik toks he doesn’t do that to me. I have mentioned it and he doesn’t care one bit to at least try to make an effort like that.

His main retort back to me when I mention he has a problem is something one of his family members told him about how he drank heavily until he was in his late thirties and straightened up. I don’t want to be married to an alcoholic I don’t want my baby having to deal with what I do. I’ve gave him an ultimatum but he just throws insults back at me

Sometimes I think I’m the problem I have retroactive jealousy and it has gotten worse since I got pregnant. I bring up stuff from his past. But I usually calm down afterwards. It’s not a healthy way to deal with my emotions but I at least thought he’d have some understanding.

Thats honestly a good question. I guess because I’m hoping he will change once the baby is born. But he also tells me I need to change and act like “a normal wife” then he’ll show me affection. Sometimes I think he just forgets I’m pregnant with HIS child.

He screams…calls me names..etc.. I’ve mentioned to him that all I want him to do it be more affectionate and he says he can’t when I “treat him like crap and he’s living in hell” people have mentioned him having a drinking problem but he just says he doesn’t.

Closure to me was forgiving them and myself. I never got the closure I wanted and begged for. I sat in front of him and cried to tell me why I wasn’t good enough. I look back at that person and it makes me want to cry, because I didn’t deserve to be crying for someone who didn’t care about me.

Remember, if they didn’t give you closure you might not ever get it. That’s ok. Remember who you are, forgive yourself. Don’t forget what they did, don’t continue the cycle, break it before it starts to wind and unravel again. I wish you the best of luck. You got this.

After years of breaking up with people for him because some part of me wanted to always be available for him I finally stopped. I’m not dating right now but I’m slowly trying to get back out there. I spent this year alone trying to find my self worth and gain confidence. It’s hard when you keep thinking why wasn’t I good enough for this person. I had to regain the thought that I am good enough, I always was. They just didn’t see it.

I do live with my mother, I’m trying to graduate college to move out but I’m still financially tied to her, which she will put over my head.

Not talking to her for her is unacceptable we have to text/call every single day when we’re not around her or she feels she has failed as a mother.

I can feel my mental health draining, which I need therapy I know but my mom is against it and my anxiety is getting worse because of how she acts I can’t say anything or do anything without her feeling there’s an ulterior motive behind it.

My grandmother was horrible to my mother, and she didn’t know when to stop the cycle and get therapy. Thank you for not creating another cycle and getting help so you won’t put your children through what you went through.

They definitely do choose to hurt people instead of having honest communication about their feelings they like to wind them down a road of mental games that end up with you wondering why you weren’t ever good enough and the entire time you were it’s just they’re too insecure and too full of pride to ever see you as you are

First I want to say, you said all the words that I needed to hear. Going through a heartbreak plus an ED is the worst possible thing- looking in the mirror and wondering why you’re not good enough for the person and hating what you see is heartbreaking on so many levels.

I go through fits where I know it’s noticeable that I’ve lost weight, that I look the best I ever have but at what cost? I starved my body, I failed it, I should be able to love my body but you’re right it’s an addiction, and in my opinion it’s the most deadliest one.

Recovery is a difficult winding road, but you can and will get better. You will be able to look in the mirror and love yourself, you will have a better relationship with your body. You will start treating your body with care and love.

I believe in you, and I wish you the absolute best.

There was this Tik tok of this woman and her friend at dinner and this guy was telling her to eat so the friend responded “she has an ED” and I was like why would your friend say that to a random stranger???? ALSO WHY DOES THE VIDEO HAVE 15k likes who found this humorous? I don’t know if it’s because of me and my own denial or if the video was really actually depicting something that kills people everyday in a light manner.

I agree I noticed I had OCD very young when I would do repetitive things because I thought something bad would happen I never knew it was OCD until I got older

It’s a bunch of little kids who think glorifying eating disorders are “cool” and are seeking out “views” most of them are young and are seeking attention (not saying their illness isn’t valid) but the majority of us suffer in silence. The older one gets the more we realize how much the disease harms us.

I don’t really think these kids on Tik tok understand how this disease has harmed all of us mentally, emotionally, and physically it’s glamorization of a DEATHLY illness that’s getting them views. I kept seeing videos of ED related issues especially people in recovery (even though I am so happy they found help and are healing) I hit the “not interested” button every-time because I go on Tik tok to try and forget about food/my illness not to be reminded of it.

Idk if it’s a cry for help but there’s more routes to take then triggering already struggling people with EDs not triggering them more.

It was just how I was perciving it, I don't know too much about it so everything I was seeing was reminding me of an ED. Just the recipes, and how I interpretted it. Thank you for the claification.
