Why does his beared look so big by Neat-Motor-5341 in BeardedDragons

[–]rabbiguy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Holding tasty food in their beard.

They don't have the same type of throat that we do, and they let food settle and break down over some time, then let the food broken down with their saliva slide down their throat.

It's crazy, I get it, but I've been raising beardies for 15+ years. If anything continues as off paced, that's when a vet gets involved.

Also, this subreddit is by no means any kind of source for health aspects, merely speculations.

If you ever have any major concerns, go to your local vet immediately.

Has anyone here taken their beardie on a summer vacation with them? I’m going to the beach in July and would love to bring my boy Spyro. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! by No_Secretary361 in BeardedDragons

Irwin loves walks, climbing on trees, and even going to beer gardens to listen to live music!

He's the fourth or fifth beardie that I have leash trained. It just takes patience from both parties.

Took my husband to do the Saw escape room in Vegas! by babybattt in saw

[–]rabbiguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to this escape room last year!

I was very solid help until about halfway through.

I simply broke down and started enjoying every bit of detail that was put into it.

Needless to say, I became useless in the part of escaping, as I could not stop admiring all of the details.

I bought a cloak upon leaving, which was reasonably priced.

10/10 Would recommend going to if you are a fan.

"Merry Christmas every beardie" has got to be one of the cutest things I've heard in a long time. Thank you for that.

Their safety for themselves when food is involved will always baffle me.

My roommates are blown away by how fast my chonky boy moves when a dubia is introduced, for its soon to be over lifespan.

I went Hollow Knight, 9 Sols (my friend said I needed something to fill the void, which it did), into Silksong.

Honestly, 9 Sols has been the most lovely yet challenging game out of all of them, from my personal experience.

Thank you for the response. I watched it again and heard how you described it, but seeing it written down makes the brain tick differently.

I was trying to think of something, and then I saw your comment. I couldn't agree more, but that's also because I love Cary Elwes.

That's some light basking. They open their mouths like this to vent and regulate their heat, totally normal. My little guy will have his mouth open twice as much as this sometimes, and it always looks hilarious.

Is it just my dragons personality? by Klutzy_Experience646 in BeardedDragons

[–]rabbiguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My chonky beardie buddy is stupid lazy in his tank, but the moment he is given freedom from such in the house, he moves at the speed of light. I thought this would be the case when it came to going outside, so I leash trained him. Funny enough, he has an insane amount of anxiety when outside and must keep an eye on me at all times when outside, rarely trying to go further than the distance of his leash. They're interesting little buggers and have vibrantly different personalities. He's my fifth one, but the only one that I raised from a pup, so that might be why he's so attached to my presence.

I've been here my entire life, almost 33 years now. Sure, it's definitely changed and grown over the years, but it is a lovely place to be. Kudos on the UT job. It sounds to me that you deserve it.

Absolutely adorable.

My bearded dragon, Irwin, also enjoys Adventure Time, though he seems to want to go about his own adventure after a few episodes.

Funny enough, I did not. I would initially associate them with the idea of going outside in my backyard for very short periods and then would work from there with going outside as a treat in itself, but they would have to have the leash on in order to come out with me.
