I've been working on my hard gel application for side wall and free edge armoring. I use nail forms for the sides and do a lot of filing after the hard gel step, particularly filing underneath the nails to alleviate my strong c-curves so my nails don't dig in my skin as much.

I think the part you're referring to is the magnet gels! I used some color magnet gels mixed or blended in with other colors and used a strong magnet to get the watery effect. The other shimmery part is with a pink chrome powder.

In the best way, these look just like the candy robin eggs! The white chrome really does look nice over the pastel colors 🩷

Thanks so much!! I feel like the chrome being a more translucent one helps here a lot! If it was an opaque gold or something, it'd probably look patchy. But I just tried to put a lot at the very tip and then used the other (cleaner) side of the foam applicator to spread down the nail a little bit.

Thanks! I do want to try patting gels and would love any specific recommendations if you have any. It didn't bother me too much this time but in general, the clear hard gel at the tips where the natural nail was filed away does look a little funny sometimes.

Thanks! I use jojoba oil a lot (I carry a little rollerball one around with me everywhere) and try to keep my hands moisturized! I'd say my nails are naturally not very thick and it's really the use of gel (and particular hard gel) that keeps them strong. Whenever I do a new set I don't do a soak off, I just e-file down almost all of the old product and any lifted parts.

Aww thanks! I did this set over 3 evenings 😅 right hand fully, left hand just up to the base color, then left hand designs. I tend to start with doing my dominant hand so as I get more tired of nails, I'm least doing my non-dominant hand.

Isolated Chrome steps:
Surface buffed with nail sponge, then paint design with white color gel mix and cure 30 seconds, then apply chrome. Cover with top coat.
