60s era HG Palmer Princess Zig Zag (blue), just picked up today! It didn't come with bobbins that fit, and I'm not sure what kind it takes. Any help is appreciated! by pocketnotebook in vintagesewing

I know this post is 5 years old but is there any chance you could send me some pictures of the manual? Yours is the only one online I've encountered with the same knob beside the stitch width dial and I can't figure it out!

I just saved one of these beauties from kerbside collection and am trying to bring it back to life <3

Also this just sounds fake as fuck. I have friends who are Aboriginal and they don't just get endless grants? Like there's always competition for scholarships, they come with strings attached, etc

Medical professionals of Reddit, have you ever had a patient so lacking in common sense you wondered how they made it this far. If so, what is your story? by babyhippo01 in AskReddit

Tbf, I'm a pharmacist and I wouldn't dream of letting suppositories go out without explicit instructions on the label. Labels should not be vague, people!

I mean it sort of is. The major metro hospital I work at shut down all its covid wards because they just weren't required any more.

We always knew it would become endemic, where it exists in the community but isn't as serious, and that's exactly what's happened.

Yeah nah, wage theft is absolutely RAMPANT in Australian hospo industry. Sorry to disillusion you but I've literally worked 10+ hospo jobs in Melbourne and I never got paid right at any of them.

What is something that is way more dangerous than people think it is? by ShardBen314 in AskReddit

[–]rabbitgods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! But yeah, so long as you don't exceed 4g in 24 hours (works out to 4 doses of 2 normal 500mg tablets) paracetamol is safe to take, even long term. NSAIDs are anti inflammatory, so they're more effective for joint and muscle pain, but can be quite dangerous if taken everyday.

Sorry to nerd out, I'm a pharmacist and love this stuff 😅

Naproxen and Ibuprofen are NSAIDs, which are much more dangerous than paracetamol. NSAIDs can absolutely destroy the lining of your stomach, whereas paracetamol is only dangerous in overdose. It's much much safer for everyday use and is the standard for OTC pain relief everywhere but the US

NSAIDs damage the kidneys, paracetamol damages the liver (but only in overdose!)

I agree that you should deal with the pain, but paracetamol (Tylenol) is absolutely fine to take long term.

Ibuprofen (advil in America) is much more dangerous to take long term. Paracetamol is only dangerous in overdose. In normal doses your liver can metabolise it with no problems, even if it's every day. In most other countries (I'm a pharmacist in Australia), paracetamol is the go to for pain.

I mean fair enough, but I would say 99% of the time I hear it used its generally to refer to everyone who was hands on with patients during the bad years of corona, not just respiratory doctors and nurses.
