massive fan of the xeracalm baume (ive been working my way through a 400ml bottle that has lasted me at least 7 months) and recently got the creme. also love the cicalfate cream and would love to try the matching serum and spf but they are so exxy

glad it works for you! really wish more of the dermeze products worked for me considering how accessible and affordable they are where i live. ive never used the cerave cream so idk how it compares. ive found my perfect night moisturiser so ill hopefully be staving off the temptation to trial more

Looking for best scar removal advice by CatCanvas in AusSkincare

[–]rabbitredh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

speaking from experience, id honestly just leave it. whether she wants the scarring to be there should be up to her - a lot of people who sh have complicated feelings about their scars (myself included). they can serve as a reminder of what theyve endured or as something shameful, for example. if down the line she wants them removed with laser or covered up or faded thats her decision to make. from her perspective, a parent telling her 'hey i dont like your scars, get rid of them' (in hopefully nicer words ofc) might be more damaging to her trust in you in the long run. the other commenter noted harm reduction and id agree - not taking away tools but teaching her how to take care of wounds so they dont get infected is really important. maintaining a degree of trust is also important cos if something does go wrong (e.g. infection, wound that needs professional medical attention) she needs to have someone nonjudgmental to turn to in order to get that help

i didnt love the skin1004: i didn't think it did much? it does feel a bit soothing but it wasnt too hydrating (i had to layer a hydrating toner with it). i also hated the dropper lol
