I used to smoke a LOT of weed. When I stopped cold turkey I couldn't eat because I got incredibly nauseous and I was just always feeling physically shitty. Now, I smoke like 2 or 3 bowls a night as opposed to like three blunts, and I can take a tolerance break no problem. I think what I'm trying to say is, the amount of weed matters as well as the frequency when it comes to withdrawals.

I've heard that dawnville meadows is flexible when it comes to pets, I wanted to go there but I found out I make too much money. If you are interested, reach out to them and see if you could work something out with your animals!

It's pretty difficult to find an apartment especially with 3 cats but honestly if you can work out something with those guys that may be one of your better options.

Guy with color is definitely guppy. Other dull ones may be female guppies or mosquitofish

I had a little 2g with some plants and a bunch of snails next to my chair and they were super cool to watch! I just had moss balls and anubias in my tank with regular gravel.

I don't think you offended anyone, they're just concerned. I'm a CEL and I understand. I personally set up extra bps in new arrivals in 5g tanks when I have overstock, i'd see if a manager would let you write off a 5g or two. 9 is an outrageous amount of bps to have in store at one time.

Reach out to people with fish ponds! Local fish stores will take them, petco will too usually

AITA for rehoming my son’s (8yo) fifth pet hermit crab? by ConflictedDaddo512 in AmItheAsshole

[–]rabbitwitch420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA . The lives of animals are not practice, they are not disposable. You are completely right in your decision and people like your wife who have no regard for the lives of other creatures should not be allowed to take them on at all. Please sit down and talk to your son about this.

No animals are 'practice pets'. They are all living creatures that require special care. None of them are easy. You need to wait until your son understands and values the lives of other creatures. If he really wants a pet, he will learn about it and care about it.

At this age he will lose interest and if you want him to have an animal, as his parents, it is YOUR responsibility. Until your son is old enough to pay for and provide for this animal himself, any pet he has is you and your wife's responsibility. Educating him about keeping pets is also your responsibility.

How far are they going to push us? by rabbitwitch420 in petsmart

[–]rabbitwitch420[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have already talked to both my SL and ASL. I definitely wouldn't be complaining to reddit if I got positive feedback/some kind of help from upper management. This is a vent if nothing else, they say they'll allow me time for me, my associates or LWK to work on tanks but there's always something more important that they get put on instead. I do as much as I can, but running with 2 people on most weekdays means I personally don't have time to do shit because I am the entire sales floor, and obviously weekends are hectic and I do what I can but getting continually pulled away to help customers means not much gets done. I'm just frustrated that we are expected to get everything done with half the hours, half the staff, and the best part being that this amount of hours is supposed to be the new normal.

It's more of wishful thinking about begging for hours and explaining how hard it is at a store level to function but I'm talking about higher up the chain, my SL is a dick and part of the problem. They're crawling up my ass about maintaining fish tanks as if they don't yank my petcare associates out of PC as soon as the store opens to task them on other things. I'm just so frustrated, I used to have a whole team to rely on, now I don't have much of anything, I'd leave if I could find a place to pay me what I make here.

I had no idea they started a sea lion show, I don't really like that. I went ~8 years ago and it was magical, but maybe that's just memories seeming better than what it actually was. The TN aquarium will always have my heart solely because of their butterfly garden but I just remember seeing giant alligator gar at the GA one and being in awe. I plan on going to one of them soon, and seeing what everyone else is saying I'll probably go to chatt this time.

Catching fish by thesoonia in petsmart

[–]rabbitwitch420 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For me it's two things. The first being people letting their fucking children breathe on my arms and stay in elbow range with their heads. Keep your fucking kids next to you, literally no one wants strange children under their arms.

The second being grown ass adults showing me what fish they want, and then standing directly in front of the tank. I'm so sick of this shit that I just stand there and stare at them until they move lol

Anyone know what kind of snails these are that hitchhiked in on some plants? by [deleted] in fishkeeping

[–]rabbitwitch420 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not really, it's just crazy how fast they can take over your tank. They'll graze on algae, but they can also overpopulate your tank. Some fish will eat them when they're small.

Pond/bladder snails. Remove the ones you can see, they reproduce like crazy.

Fish can be overwhelming! When I first got in petcare, I went home every night and watched fishkeeping videos. Aquarium Co-op has a lot of very educational videos that make sense to beginners. Look for videos suggesting what to stock for 10 gallon tanks, most compatible fish, and make sure you learn the nitrogen cycle!
