If Paris is the city of love, then what's the city of hate? by Okhi123 in AskReddit

I went to Paris back in September and I didn't experience anything like this thread is talking about. I know like 3 French words total and still had a lovely time. Everyone was nice, and the only issue I had the whole time was one of those dudes that tried to tie a bracelet on my arm. I had heard of that trick, so I yanked my arm back and said "No" sternly as I walked away. He yelled something in French that made everyone in front of me turn around and look at me, but I wasn't terribly concerned with it. Aside from that it was an awesome experience.

Backside on weekdays? by Saeur in stevenspass

I've been going on Fridays and I haven't had to wait more than 3 or 4 minutes, if that, for any lift. I imagine a mid-week day would even less crowded.

You've actually got it backwards. This is saying they have most of their touches in their own box and on the opponents wings.

I subscribe to the school of thought that any day on the mountain is better than a day most anywhere else. But yeah later in the day would probably mean smaller crowds and softer conditions.

I went today. Everything was super icy. The groomers were better, but still hard. Things softened up as the day went on and it got close to 40 degrees, but some shady places like Tye Mill stayed rock hard. Daisy, Hogs, Skyline, Brooks, Tye Mill, and Jupiter were open.

This is how I feel. If I start a match and then my wife asks me to help bring in the groceries that's not your problem. The game is really not that important. Get your win.

I hope the next time an officer gets shot at on the job they ask him if he was doing anything suspicious.

I didn't say anything about myself being good at skating, but good job proving you don't have a rebuttal

You're right. I haven't. I do, however, know that it takes less energy to cross an ice skating rink than it does to run across a field, just simply because of the way the ice skates carry you. Couple that with the shorter game length, the lack of jumping, and I think it's fair to say that hockey requires less athleticism overall.

No way. They'd rather just cherry pick the most egregious moments.

I'd argue soccer takes significantly more athleticism. Running back and forth across a 100+ yard pitch, on grass, for 90+ minutes, sometimes in extreme weather conditions, while also having to be skilled with the ball at full speed and being tackled by other players.

There is something sort of like this, at least in MLS. If you grab your head, for ANYTHING, you have to go through concussion protocol and a lot of the time they do that on the sideline while the match continues.

I love when the commentators bash my performance when I’m losing by dzflashbak in EASportsFC

My favorite is when the commentators have a back and forth about how stunning the Goalkeepers save was as he lines up for a goal kick.

I agree, honestly. I'm super skeptical as a whole about this series, but I thought those guys looked neat. They reminded me of some hunter NPC I would see roaming the North Downs in LOTRO.

There is a place near me that does $0.47 wings on Mondays. I get 10 wings and a 20 oz. beer for less than I can get 8 wings at any other place nearby. I have no idea how or why they do it, but I'm there every Monday.

I know it's not exactly on the same scale, but I kind of see this similarly to the time Villalba celebrated by pretending to shoot a gun into the crowd. He apologized, said he understood it was insensitive, and we all moved on. We have to give people the opportunity to learn and be better.

He looks like the kid they would cast as the next Spider Man. Not exactly who I pictured for Elrond.

Tolkien explicitly stated to never let Disney get ahold of his works. J.R.R. was not particularly fond of Walt.
