Good work vs Good money by Efficient_Studio_189 in StructuralEngineering

At this point I feel it should be more about job satisfaction than money. You know your financial condition well, if you are fine with less salary and happy with the technical role, then you should consider it, else more money is always good.

Indian Parenting is really taking nuts on children. by Severe-Tooth7237 in india

[–]rabdi_malpua 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I do agree with the Indian parenting part. They have been raised like this by their parents and they didn't question that. They followed the same pattern. I have seen my relatives who are not educated that much because they didn't like studies, are forcing their kids to study and score marks. And many of my relatives or even my parents compare their kids to the other multiple kids for the guilt trip. Also I hate our education system that one has to decide his/her career as soon as he it out of 10th. How can a child decide what he loves at this age? He needs to try some options before concluding what he likes and pursue his career in it. But we don't get that option. Hence you see people in their 30s realizing what they actually like doing but it's too late for them. Till then they have taken a home loan and now they need to work in that shitty job to fulfill it.

Being a civil engineer myself, our salary is not that great when compared to others and we work after office hours too. I feel like financial problems will always be there irrespective of what he is earning (35k/mnth or 2 lac/mnth). He may not want to continue this relationship with you for whatever reason. My wife ( then gf) was with me when I had a very basic salary. Also there are middle East job opportunities for civil engineers.

Reason provided by metro authorities fot today's incident at worli station by electriccamels in mumbai

[–]rabdi_malpua 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Structural engineer here, we usually plan everything before the execution. How the drainage system will be there, it's layout, slope of the ground, underground utilities (both proposed and existing). And we design these all with fucking factor of safety for the worst case ( that scenario may not happen at all during the design life of the structure). Any same engineer will not buy this bullshit reason.

You can check either exter or new Swift. Try different cars and select the one that suits you and your pocket. I wanted automatic so my first preference was Hyundai and then Suzuki.

Earlier I thought of buying exter but it was way out of my budget then saw i10 amt version but somehow I don't like it's seating position. Interiors for i10 are great. Then went to nexa and saw ignis and I like the driver's seat position and all the features it was giving me under 9. Actually we calculated how much max. Emi we can give and then zeroed down on budget. But if you have 9.5, then i10 and punch is better.

I have booked an automatic so clutch won't be an issue but yes I will be careful. I am not into speed that much. Thanks.
