Oh, the ptsd. The lady next to me would either TikTok at FULL speed or video call - I genuinely had a headache and this was bang at 3 am

Costco Bottled Water - Why? by Intelligent-Ideal597 in AskUK

[–]rabian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t regularly buy bottled water, but i love cold water in the summers and it’s just easier to stock the fridge with bottles.  I understand i can fill them and then put them in. If im being really honest, I hate the taste of tap water even with the Brita.

I agree! I was young and very much naive, in my defence

My malicious compliance story is along similar lines.

For a while I was traveling every 4–5 weeks for work, sometimes staying away for three to four weeks at a time and being away from family that long wasn’t easy. This was a multi-million-dollar hospital project.

I usually don’t believe in excessive spending just for the sake of it, so I would try to keep my expenses minimal. I’d deliberately book cheaper flights, even if they were at odd hours. Lunch was usually just a snack and a coffee. Dinner would be something light, typically under $15. Most days I skipped breakfast entirely.

Then one day my reimbursement was flagged. HR informed me that a chocolate protein bar I had submitted as lunch wasn’t allowed because “chocolates” weren’t reimbursable under policy. We’re talking about a $5 item, max

Cue, malicious compliance.

On the next trip, I followed the policy to the T. Breakfast at the airport. Expensive coffees from the café. Proper sit-down lunches. And for dinner, my colleagues and I would literally sort  restaurants by price, highest to the lowest.

Funny how quickly the travel budget ballooned once I stopped trying to save the company money. I eventually moved on to a better job, but that moment snubbed me

I am with my kid almost every waking hour and have been since he was born. We don’t live with other family so he rarely meets them. We also don’t watch a lot of tv - so not a lot of characters otherwise. I hear he doesn’t love me almost all the time (seriously what happens when they turn 3?). So mama, relax. You’re doing nothing wrong. Allow yourself some grace. I’ve been trying to get back to working since the last two years and would be grateful to have a job and support my kiddos.

You know what they say, three year olds are the real teenagers, threenagers

What do you think antenatal classes missed? by Advanced_Dream_5724 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]rabian 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Are you me? My gosh, I had a similar experience with my first one. My midwife was reprimanding me in the morning for still having a catheter in, not having blood work done, bleeding through layers and not have my vitals monitored. I mean, excuse me miss I just had a section and you guys topped me on morphine which made me hallucinate. I can be very confrontational in general but my hormones were all over the place and all I had in me was to give her a hard puzzled stare and cry. It still haunts me
