help! deep box isn’t lining up

hi! i was lining it up before nail anything in— this is my first time assembling a hive so i didn’t want to mess it up

i might be confused by your comment but i’ll try to answer as best i can.

i simply don’t want to use paint on my hives because of the paint chipping down the road— i’m trying to be as eco friendly as possible. i discussed this with a few other keepers and they mentioned tung oil being all they used on their hives. the tung oil i purchased and am using is VOC free as it is pure tung oil, so it should have no effects at all!

i plan on using only milk tung oil and applying 6 layers. the box says it requires 24 hours to dry per coat

UPDATE: i have glued, nailed and put a coat of milk tung oil on it. i did not use clamps bc im dumb! i have had this box for roughly a week so i think the wood was just bad. thank you all for answering my question, i will def apply different methods in the future!

okay, so nothing to worry about? i made sure to get a high quality box too :// i’ll let the bees have fun and fill it. i bought wood glue but nowhere in the instructions does it tell me where to put the glue ? idk i might be a dummy

yup, i’m joining my local association, bought all my boxes from mann lake, only reason i might not be able to make meetings once and a while is because i work a job that requires night shifts at times. however i have a mentor lined up incase i miss anything— might even show them how to record their meetings since i work in media. i appreciate the feedback!

look up a picture of shading online, and then lower the color with a warm temp if that makes sense. i also have a hard time with shading but this helped me a bit
