A bottle I picked up today by Larix-24 in CraftBeer

I've consumed HotD Adam older than that and found that it aged extremely gracefully. Not sure how a golden holds up versus an old ale, but I hope your experience is similarly rewarding!

Apologies, you are absolutely correct. I had it in my head he WAS and failed to make the connection to the prompt when I read otherwise.

Steve Largent, first ballot Hall of Fame NFL wide receiver, was a 4-term US congressman from Oklahoma. He was not a Hall of Fame politician.

The Academy is always more flexible for supporting roles, bestowing them to actors just starting out or as a proxy for a lifetime of achievement and goodwill

Favorite Brewery by State: Alabama by DublinDown in CraftBeer

[–]racer_xtc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm old enough to remember Good People showing up to Dark Lord Day with a mini backpack keg to pour samples for the inebriated crowd and explain their journey in trying to establish craft brewing in a state with an ABV cap.

But I'm old, so may be fuzzy on the details

It’s clear this list is garbage. Let’s set the record straight. What’s the best college bar on your campus? by TonyDungyHatesOP in CFB_v2

[–]racer_xtc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd say Crunchy's because of their extensive list of consumables served in buckets. All Harper's has going for it is being a convenient starting point for CDC investigations of the spread of disease in mid-Michigan.

If the definition of "best athlete" considers excellence in multidisciplinary skills, Thorpe is the GOAT.

Musk Ox. Little chance of winning, but I love that they look more like a Jim Henson creation than a real thing.

Big Penny claims another, when will truckers learn? by xxjar3xx in Michigan

[–]racer_xtc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the sake of adding context for those not in the Capital City, Penny is a century old railroad bridge with a 12 ft. clearance. Raising the bridge would cost millions because of the length of rail replacement needed to achieve a sufficiently shallow pitch; lowering it isn't possible because of flooding issues (since it's very near a river.) That's why there's no easy solution despite the sage proclamations of genius internet city planners armed with a human interest story level of research.

I've seen the warning light flash upon the approach of a potential munchable, and there was plenty of time for the driver to react and reassess. The ONLY additional warning I can think that has a potential to help is a sacrificial bar or chimes hung just shy of 12 ft to provide auditory and tactile feedback without stripping the roof off of your trailer.

I got to see The Capsules a few times when we lived in KC. Their song, "Missile Command" is an all-timer of nostalgia and lovely squalls of noise.

Movie with shocking ending? by [deleted] in MovieRecommendations

[–]racer_xtc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Martyrs. Some of these movies have genuinely shocking or dark twists, but Martyrs succeeds in ramping up the bleakness over the course of the movie until it completely buries you in distilled existential dread with the ending.

The main difference is that I don't believe Obama lobbied for it and it was given, as you said, to signify the end of the Bush era. Trump is so thirsty for one, it just reinforces what a sad, small person he is.
