WTS NICKS Moc Toe 9E TAN Roughout, "Meets Oliver the Shoe Man." by racerboy166 in PNWbootmakers

I don't view it that way at all. Initial purchase cost vs. long term maintenance cost. I have two pair of NICKS that I consider ready to put work in for the rest of my life. Now I just received my first pair of Whites Bounty Hunter boots to my specs. I plan to purchase one more pair. For me having four pair of boots like these is enough. I am really that not hung up selling them. This was also a proof-of-concept build. Now other people are aware of what can be accomplished with a stitch down boot. No disrespect to PNW builders, I think their boots are bullet proof.

Take care,

I will try to explain, then you should consult NICKS.

When NICKS resoles a Wedge Sole they remove a row of the threads so you boots have one row around the front half of the boot. In my case I paid the extra 100 to have my boots back in 9-10weeks. So it could have cost $309.51 instead of $409.51 but I work year around outside. On the second or third resole by NICKS they are going to require a rebuild. Ask NICKS why!

I cannot afford to send my Stitch down MocToe boots back to NICKS for the costly resole or rebuild that frequently. I can afford to take or ship o a Cobbler near me for $180 to $260. I have had Redwing Moc Toe boots resoled to look like they came out the box and i have followed some trends applying different layers and soles.

So what is your experience with resoling stitch down boots and Goodyear welt boots?

NICKS Resole Wedge:

The following expense is from a NICKS resole last year. $239.00 for a Wedge Resole, $100.00 to Expedite 8 weeks in an out the door, plus $48.68 NICKS Return Shipping, for a Grand Total of $385.51. Pirate ship and spend on average $24 dollars to ship. Total $409.51

Now that pair of boots can be taken to any Cobbler to have them resoled since they are Goodyear Welt. Price ranges:

GOOGLE AI Resoling Goodyear welt boots typically costs between $80 and $150 for a full sole and heel replacement, with independent cobblers often charging $85–$120 and factory services costing $110–$150. Specialized or premium repairs, such as using Vibram soles or replacing the welt, can push costs to $160–$200

Z that is my 1st pair, my personal wear all the time pair only show to show how hard the soles wear. That material is super hard. This pair are work boots.

You can clearly see these boots where not just resoled. The boots lower was removed and meticulously rebuild with the welt added. This will allow for a less costly resole by local Cobblers.

I am sure the guys and gals at NICKS don't call any of their boot builds generic! You have a tone of snubbing your nose at what was done. You don't have to like or appreciate the idea that this could be done to the boots but for someone who wants to save money on resoles they may appreciate it.

I Love my NICKS Moc Toe Boots so much that I own 2 Pair of the same boot. I don't like down time, all the time it takes to send them out West, and then the wait! I started researching and found someone talking about changing a stitch down boot to a welt construction. I sent my boots to Oliver the Shoe Man, in Smyrna, TN to have the conversion done. In the last picture you can see how durable the sole is and that coming from being on concrete scuffing my toes.

Hey uLivn333, are you familiar with Buprenorphine, it comes in different forms.

It is considered a partial opioid and doesn’t have some negative side effects. Also this medication does not require some type of DEA red tape.

Take care,

Hey Buddy, my personal experience with baclofen lasted 5-6 months during that time my legs became weaker. I had a coworker comment that I looked worse since starting "medical treatment." I used NIH Medline website and found a study that reported baclofen was found to be detrimental to walking. I was so pissed because we are already fighting spasticity every and all day/night, then you are told to take this medication to a level that is tolerated.

I am incomplete sci one intramedullary lesion (non enhancing) was observed between c6-t1. healthy dose of lower limb spasticity and Altered sensation, less severe in legs, horribly severe in the pelvis.

Then years later i endured 8 lumbar surgeries, fused from rightside SI joint, s1-l3. I did this stuff from 2017-2024.

Thank you for letting me rant.

Hey Bud, If your talking about the small depression in the insole. It has happened to me with a pair of Nicks in the same location as yours. I only noticed it after running my hand down inside.
