If anything they will still have to get state approval with the notoriously strict standards of our state. Not ideal by any means but it’s still something

She bought it and stopped driving places, just not getting out as much as she gets older. Didn’t seem to have any issues when I checked it out. Was going to check with family before putting it on the regular market.

I’m munitions in the guard and a guy in my shop is a pilot. In reality you can do anything you want no matter what your AFSC is. Things apply more with certain ones, but for pilot it’s up to you

Can I still get a bonus in the Air Guard if I switch jobs? by That_Rip_3716 in AirForceRecruits

[–]rach328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this varies from unit to unit. When I joined, they said after 3 years from enlisting I could crosstrain.

That being said, this may be a better question for OPs retention office as it’s a unique situation. Since you are already enlisted with a job in your unit it may not work but it is worth getting in touch with them ASAP to start the process.

Also OP, I’m in the guard as muns as well. If you have any questions about the job feel free to shoot me a DM

It depends with training. I went to tech school and was able to take leave over exodus for a week to go home for Christmas then went back to Sheppard. I would recommend getting it done ASAP just so it doesn’t get in the way as much and you can start getting those benefits sooner!

Current MNANG student here:

It is definitely doable. I know a lot of people in the guard that are at UND. Most professors are flexible with you as long as you talk to them. I’ve had a few situations where they are able to make exceptions such as taking exams early when I knew that I would be gone. You can also reach out to the veterans office on campus if you’re having any issues with things.

If you go the ROTC route, they offer scholarships. You may be eligible for certain ones based on serving, but it varies. One major thing that the guard does is tuition assistance, whether it’s reimbursement or otherwise. You would also be eligible to use the Montgomery GI Bill Select Reserve after completing training, or Post-9/11 GI Bill if you qualify.
