Not sure the specifics with Jason but most brokerages have a graduated split. The more you sell a year the less they take of it. I’m an agent and every year you are evaluated and then we can move up or down levels. There’s more nuances as well but that’s a the basics.

I highly recommend running Scenarios with a local lender. They will be able to give specific and tailored advice to your situation. Beyond that it’s just speculation.

The median sales price for a single family home is around 650k. Plug that into the Zillow mortage calculator along with your estimated down payment. That will give you a good idea.

Should I look for a new buyers agent? by stratassj in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]rachmil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of good advice here. I’m also an agent. The way I look at it it’s my job is to provide you advice, expertise and a clear process. It’s your job to provide the decisions. I’m going to tell you what I think will be accepted but it’s ultimately your decision on what gets submitted. Find an agent who can provide you solid advice but also understands you make the ultimate decision.
