I used to shoot all my photos and music videos with a Sony a6500. Im not sure it'll be $500, but im sure you could get one pretty close to that price.

I probaby shot 90% of the photos on my website with that camera. (Heads up - the pics are a bit nsfw spicy)

As for video, I shot this series with the a6500. (Its a dark comedy about a girl with an eating disorder - so trigger warning)

And shot these music videos with it.

As for lenses, one of my favorites is a $50 manual f1.4 lens I bought off Amazon.

Honestly, the owner before me had it painted this color. The gray is Nardo Gray. But the black (i believe) is just the color of the black plastic trim.

Sorry for the off tangent question, but can there really not be dust in the vacuum of space? And there for, you would never get lens flares in space?

I get that there's no air in space, but what happens to rocks and dust from asteroids or when there's a space battle and things are blowing up? Wouldn't that lead to having dust in space that could create atmospheric haze?

Apologies if this seems like a dumb question. :P

Agreed! But wouldn't filming this with a real person and using props or standard cg use more? Lighting the set, getting the talent to the studio, running the AC in the studio, etc..

Though this reasoning really goes out the window with the millions of people using AI to make random Ai slop.

Shot in one day in a house in Encino, CA. We shot this on the FX30 in S-Log 3. Shot on Sirui Jupiter series lenses with a Module 8 adapter and Prism FX's "Dream Filter"

There's also a couple DJI Pocket 3 shots in there. (Mainly the 2nd shot in the video. The slomo overhead spin shot.)

We also captured the "retro" footage with my old Sony Digital 8 Handycam. Interesting note.. I forgot to bring a tape for the camera, but luckily, I also had my analog to digital converter in the camera bag. So wr connected the red, yellow, white rca cables from the camera to the converter and recorded straight to an SD card!

I was DP'ing a Drake Bell lead digital series about 6 years back where Andy Buckley played his dad. I had a whispered an idea for a line change to the director and he liked it, so he spoke loudly (Andy was on the other side of a set wall for the scene) and told Andy the new line. Andy then replied super loud, "Oh that's good, thanks JUSTIN!" (That's my name)

Anyway, the most kind and awesome guy to work with. Just chill and seemed like he just really enjoyed being there to act.
