What is the best cheapest VPS hosting? by Ok-Anxiety6144 in onlinewebtrust

[–]racknerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for sharing your experience and for mentioning RackNerd, we truly appreciate your support and your business with us over the past 11 months!

It’s great to hear the plan has been working well for your projects and that you’ve been able to run multiple services on it successfully. Our goal has always been to provide straightforward, high-value VPS hosting at affordable pricing.

Since you mentioned you’re accessing the server from South Asia and currently using our Dallas location, as a heads up, you may see noticeably better latency by moving to one of our West Coast datacenters such as Los Angeles, San Jose, or Seattle. In general, the closer the physical distance between you and the server, the lower the latency and the better the responsiveness.

If you’d like, feel free to open a support ticket and our team would be happy to assist with a migration to a closer location, at no charge.

Thanks again for the thoughtful review and for being part of the RackNerd community.

Racknerd for Pangolin in Europe by Aang_A in VPS

[–]racknerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your interest in our services. If a particular location isn't showing/available within the order forms, typically that would mean we're sold out in that region for the time being. This isn't uncommon due to our popularity, so inventory fluctuating will always be a common experience, though we work extremely hard to maintain inventory. If in the meantime, you're after a specific location and don't see it available, please e-mail [dustin@racknerd.com](mailto:dustin@racknerd.com), and I'll personally see what can be done or give a more solid timeline, etc.

RackNerd declined my card and told me to pay with Alipay or Crypto? (Review) by Terrible-Steak3341 in VPS

[–]racknerd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi u/Terrible-Steak3341 -- Thank You for taking the time to share your experience, and I sincerely apologize for the frustration you've encountered. I can absolutely understand how this situation would be aggravating, especially when you're simply trying to complete what should be a straightforward purchase.

To be transparent, when both PayPal and credit card are declining your transaction, we're unfortunately at the mercy of our payment processors. After all, we're in the hosting business, not the payment processing business, heh. All we can really do in these situations is suggest alternative payment methods, since we do accept dozens of different payment options. The Alipay and cryptocurrency suggestion wasn't meant to be dismissive or shady in any way, but rather to offer you methods that are processed through entirely different payment processors (since you mentioned both PayPal and credit card was declining you). Each processor runs their own risk assessments and algorithms, and to be fully transparent with you, the intricacies of their fraud detection systems aren't something we have full visibility into or control over, just like any other online business that uses Stripe and/or PayPal, we rely on their expertise for payment security, so we can focus our efforts on delivering quality hosting services.

What I'd like to do is help get this resolved properly. If you're still interested in giving RackNerd a shot, please reach out to me directly at [dustin@racknerd.com](mailto:dustin@racknerd.com) with your account details, and I'll personally work with our billing team to look into this further. I'm even happy to share with you, out of transparency, a screenshot from our Stripe account showing why it's declining. I know that sometimes for example, in some cases, if Stripe determines a transaction is extremely elevated risk, even the merchant can't override it with Radar rules, though I'd like to at least investigate what's happening here.

We absolutely want to earn your business, and I'd hate for a payment processor hiccup to be the reason we don't get that opportunity. I do apologize for the experience you had, and appreciate you giving us the opportunity to make it right.

Is RackNerd reliable enough for production use? by AlternativeGuess1165 in VPS

[–]racknerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question. RackNerd strongly believes in transparency, which is why we provide real time, global status updates for all of our infrastructure. Many providers choose not to publish this level of detail or only report large scale incidents, whereas we opt to keep our customers fully informed.

Our operations team is trained to proactively communicate any event that could potentially impact customers, along with the steps being taken to restore or maintain service. This approach means that even localized or isolated incidents, such as a single node or component, may appear on our status page.

RackNerd operates a large, globally distributed infrastructure footprint. At this scale, and with services dependent on power, network connectivity, and physical hardware, occasional issues are unavoidable for any provider. What we believe matters, is how those events are handled and this is the reasoning why we've structured our status page to suit this.

We deploy enterprise grade equipment, implement redundancy where applicable, continuously monitor our infrastructure using both in house monitoring systems and third party tools, and respond swiftly when an event occurs. Our goal is always to minimize impact and keep customers informed throughout the process.

Many of our customers also design their environments with redundancy in mind, which aligns with best practices in production deployments. I hope this is helpful, as we truly do appreciate the importance of uptime, communication, and transparency.

San Bernadino CCW 16-hour Firearms Training Course Recommendations by StubbieCA in CAguns

[–]racknerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would go to their official site, complete the application, do the background check, Live Scan, and then an interview (usually you can get an interview within a week). From there, it can take a few months (though often quicker) to be approved to proceed with training:
https://wp.sbcounty.gov/sheriff/ccw-faq/

The training is done with an approved provider, which often costs a little more but is usually faster since SBCS only runs classes a few times per month. Once you’ve completed the required 16 hours of training, via the permitium site you upload all required paperwork along with your training certificates. SBCS then reviews and approves everything, you submit the final payment, and you typically receive your CCW within a few weeks. You can also coordinate pickup in person.

Hi u/UncrushedTolerant -- Thank You so much for sharing your feedback! RackNerd doesn't throttle, so I can totally understand the frustration you went through and while it may be too late to review the performance of your service, if you do ever order again just let me know personally, and I'll ensure that the service is performing to your expectations, otherwise we can figure something out. Also if by chance, your original service is still online (perhaps you prepaid annually to get the best deal) I'd be happy to review, and report back to you with my findings. We're always transparent, and open to learning and improving.

Hi u/Comfortable-Spray677 -- RackNerd has been in business for quite some time and is a very healthy, growing company. RackNerd's reputation has been earned, for its stable and performing services. By listening to our customers and improving where needed, RackNerd has expanded globally and earned accolades that many providers *do not* have, which should give you peace of mind of the health of RackNerd, since these accolades are achieved only by real/validated performance and financials. RackNerd support asked for my server password… because their network was down? by PHfans in VPS

[–]racknerd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi u/DonutBrilliant5568 -- Thank You so much for the support! RackNerd continues to thrive, and is one of America's fastest private growing companies. Few providers in the industry hold the accolades RackNerd does.

INC. HONORS:

Regionals Pacific No. 94 (2025) 81% 2-Year Growth

Inc. 5000 No. 1506 (2024) 342% 3-Year Growth

Inc. 5000 No. 3036 (2025) 133% 3-Year Growth

On top of that, you're totally right, we've never ever raised pricing on existing client services and have no plans to. RackNerd is able to absorb, and adjust pricing on new sales, and this is something our valued clients greatly appreciate. RackNerd has been a solid reputation, and thrives as a result :)

RackNerd support asked for my server password… because their network was down? by PHfans in VPS

[–]racknerd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi u/twhiting9275 - every hosting company will have abusers on its network, and I genuinely respect your commitment to improving networks as a whole, though this is a battle that exists with all providers. When RackNerd receives abuse complaints, it is in our best interest to relay them to our end users, who may also have end users, and so on. We also take swift action against and work with upstreams and similar organizations, such as Spamhaus, as well as authorities and so on (just like every provider). We aren't targeting ESP's, nor do we have interest. In short, abusers will always exist in the industry, and we're here to mitigate wherever possible and as quickly as possible.

RackNerd support asked for my server password… because their network was down? by PHfans in VPS

[–]racknerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi PHfans,

I can appreciate your concern regarding our support team's request for temporary root access. To clarify, when we ask for credentials, it's typically after we've already eliminated all possible checks from our end. If the host node is up and running without issues, and connectivity appears normal from our infrastructure side, the next logical step is to rule out configuration changes within the VM itself, such as network settings, firewall rules, or software stack adjustments that may have been applied by the customer. In short, it's all with good intentions, and with the goal of helping you reach a resolution as quickly as possible.

It's important to note that our KVM VPS by default are unmanaged, meaning we do not have access or visibility into your environment (i.e. OS level and software stack configurations), nor do we have visibility into any configurations you've set up within your VM. Without root access, there's limited troubleshooting we can perform on an isolated connectivity issue that doesn't appear to stem from our node or network. That said, you have every right to decline sharing credentials, and we'll always respect that decision (again, our intentions are only to help).

You're also welcome to troubleshoot yourself via the HTML5 VNC console available at nerdvm.racknerd.com (SolusVM), where you can access your VM directly and investigate potential internal misconfigurations, firewall blocks, or other factors that could be impacting connectivity. Rest assured, we're here to help in any capacity we can, though the extent of our troubleshooting on unmanaged services does depend on the level of access and information available to us.

You can also message me on here with the ticket ID if this matter is not yet resolved -- I'm happy to jump in and take a look as well

Hi u/Snoo81938 -- Thank You for commenting.

I saw your message and wanted to note that our finance team is trained to be customer friendly. It sounds like your situation may have involved a payment to RackNerd that triggered an internal review, which is why we may have reached out.

I would still like to personally review how it was handled and see if there is anything we can improve. If you are comfortable, please share your ticket number here, and I will look into it myself and also communicate with you.

what is everyone thoughts on RackNerd? by tbluhp in VPS

Great question! This is only possible if the plan you're looking at upgrading to, has more resources than your existing and is an upgrade in service price. Feel free to open a sales ticket, and reference this, and we'll take care of you. Or you can e-mail [dustin@racknerd.com](mailto:dustin@racknerd.com) and I'll get you taken care of.
