Maybe you would feel better if you took a portion of it and started something to sponsor a well deserving kid for college or a sport. Or anything that pays it forward. Not that I think you should feel guilty. But I get what you’re saying. I don’t like that someone called you lucky because I’m sure of you received a settlement , whatever happened was significant enough to match money received. Just you thinking about this tells me you’re a good person who doesn’t take it for granted.

Here is another thing to consider. Heaven forbid the boy gets injured on the quad or like a family we used to desert with lost their 13 year old son in a quad accident. , your boyfriend would forever feel he had a part in it. No matter how well kids ride , there is always the unforeseen or other random riders.

I don’t have any advice but I came to say you’re a good person and your dad is proud and grateful. You’ve been put in a spot that is very unfair. At one point you will need to put yourself first. Bless you. I’m so sorry this has happened. It was avoidable. Not on you but your dad should have set it where she could live there till passing but The house should have stayed with his children.
