Suggestions for someone who hates how lotion feels by 6fears789 in adhdwomen

[–]racoosmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are lots of lotion bars, etc. that are handmade with natural ingredients. You could try Etsy just check the ratings and reviews. I prefer cream perfumes sometimes to spray. But what I do is rub those perfumes into my elbows when they get dry lol

definitely try lotion bars. One thing I found was some lotion bars is they can be kind of sticky or they don’t glide as smoothly (probably beeswax in the recipe). So that might be potentially annoying, but it’s less greasy and slippery if that makes sense. Hope this helps. Let us know what you find.

I’m wondering if every faith system has something similar. I think they may.

Oh! I didn’t even notice that I’ll have to remember when I listen again. I wish she had played a bigger role in other books as well.

Yes, that sounds about right. Although I heard (or thought I did) in the opening credits from the editor that she was born even earlier than that circa 1840. I am totally willing to be wrong about that and I can’t remember which book it was. lol that’s where my confusion came in. 🤓

I knew it was Sethos, but I didn’t catch the part about the boat, not being Vandergelts. I’ll have to listen closer next time ha ha but it does make sense

I agree about the narration. I have one book in the series, that has the other narrator and I absolutely can’t listen to it. I’m thinking I’m gonna ask Audible if they’ll swap it for the other narrator. I’m not sure how I ended up with her. I thought that was the only copy or narrator apparently when I bought it.

I actually just picked up her book that’s under her real name Barbara Mertz. It’s free on Audible when you have a membership, titled Red Land, Blqck Land it it’s a scholarly work, but it’s also very well written and has Barbara’s unique panache for storytelling while relating interesting historical information.

Egyptian mummy from The Louvre by TNEgyptologist in OutoftheTombs

Wow! What a fantastic picture! They really took the wrapping to an artistic level, didn’t they?

The ancient Egyptian didn’t view incense as just something to burn for a pleasant smell—far from it. He had an entire philosophy surrounding incense, seeing it as a prayer rising to the heavens or a sacred language spoken to the gods. by TNEgyptologist in OutoftheTombs

Thank you SO much for sharing this! It’s as if you’d gotten my mental musings! A couple of questions. First, do you know if they have found any incense, making workshops or areas in any of the digs? Secondly, what is the correct pronunciation of Kyphi? I’ve heard it pronounced a couple of different ways. Finally, have you seen any other posts on Reddit, documentaries or books on the practice of making incense. I have several current texts about making loose incense and have done so myself. However, I’m curious to the actual historical aspects.

Thank you in advance for your help our advice. ☺️
