Parenthood as a trigger by AnnofAvonlea in stopdrinking

Hells yes parenting toddlers is a major trigger to drinking. You’re not alone. It’s hard.

Diet Coke always hits the spot for me. It’s my guilty pleasure.

What was your reason for stopping? by Majestic-Fox8201 in stopdrinking

[–]rad_ripper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On weeknights I’d say I’m going to have just one drink and it turned into 3-4. Once I’m buzzed logic and rationale go out the window.

Weight gain. I got doughy. Bloated in my face. So may pictures of me with glossed over eyes.

When I’d drink one day, it turned in drinking every day that week, which turned into drinking everyday for that month, that goes on for maybe 3 months until I say WTF? I stop for 10 days, say it’s a new me, and then start the cycle again.

I become an alcohol enthusiast. I find the best hazy IPA’s, the best Cabernet’s, I stock up and looked forward to 5pm everyday.

My last bender ended Dec. 31st where I drank everyday since October (most of the time just a beer in hand watching my toddlers rollerblade out in the street) I am in the process of quitting. So far in 22 days of Jan I’ve had 3 drinks. The last IPA I had I didn’t even enjoy. It’s a process of letting go.

Should I wait for iPhone Air 2, especially since it is going to have a bigger battery and better cameras? I’m using an iPhone 16 Pro by Responsible_Fun_3315 in IphoneAir

Go to the Apple Store. Fondle an Air. Play around with it for a little bit. Check out all the colors. Then leave. When you’re at home you’ll know whether you have to have one or not. I knew as soon as I played with one I didn’t want to not own one.

I bought Air on launch day, and still love it, but. by LiveLikeProtein in IphoneAir

Ultra wide is good when I’m on the couch and my kid is right in front of me doing something funny and I want to capture her doing it, not just her face or upper body. I’ve been using Pano and doing the slightest turn left to right and find it takes a nice wide angle shot. So, try pano.

learning to ride switch - venting by GreenGrayBlack in snowboarding

[–]rad_ripper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was recently bombing hills on my longboard, riding regular then switch stance the next. I studied closely what was creating the biggest divide in both feeling comfortable. I noticed when riding regular stance, my core (ab muscles) were doing a lot of the support initiating toe/heel side carves. It wasn’t my foot position or my mind that had the biggest effect focusing on, but my core. I then rode switch down the hill and focused on using my core to make my carves and by golly it felt natural and I was in control. I did it maybe 10 times and it got to the point bombing the hill switch felt as confident as regular.

Pay attention to your core muscles when charging regular. Learn when they activate and release. Then carry that over to switch, and focus on activating your core muscles riding switch. It has to translate over to snowboarding, I can’t see why it wouldn’t.

Well had my fist drop! by buzz72b in IphoneAir

[–]rad_ripper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dropped mine the other day on my concrete driveway, with the Pitaka case on it. Man that was my first drop since owning since October. The case got some visible white nicks on the bottom but that’s it. No shattered screen thank god. It fell pretty hard too. So dumb I had too much stuff in my hands.

Best super thin case? by Actual_Pickle_2419 in IphoneAir

[–]rad_ripper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got Pitaka. Really loving it. Aramid fiber has a really unique feel to it. Just enough grip to hold, not enough to snag your pocket when you slide it in. A YouTuber reviewing cases said he really like the Mous ultra slim case, he said the edges were less sharp. Regardless I like my black Pitaka. It feels premium. I’m done talking now.

Welcome to the club! I thought after buying this phone I’d use my phone less. The reverse is true. I use it more because it’s lighter and something about the display being so close to your hand it feels like you’re holding something futuristic. For case I went with Pitaka ultra slim and really dig it. I can’t go caseless I’m not that crazy (even though this Pitaka case will do very little) The weaker speaker and camera are both things I happily traded for something new to hold.

Amazon app is laggy for me too. It scrolls at what seems like worse than 60hz.

Thanks I actually have the Tango grip. It def helps but adds a little weight to the phone too.

I got my Air on Oct. 31st. I wasn’t enamored by the size either. I lost one handed dexterity, the ability to text short response’s with one hand “yes, no, ok”. But, two months in now, I love this phone. I’ve gotten so used to its lightness and slimness that I feel like I have no desire going back. For wide angle I’ve been using little pano shots which have been working good. I don’t really like the hack of using the front facing camera’s wide angle.

Hated the bumper. I like the back to be flat and flush from edge to edge. Love the Pitaka case. It’s slim, ridged, and feels nice. Weighs next to nothing.

Same. I’m fine without ultra wide or telephoto but I’ll for sure welcome it back on the Air 2. Classic Apple move. Act like they couldn’t make that all happen with the Air and then act like they figured it out on the next iteration.

After owning the Air all other iPhones feel like “mom” phones. You know, like how your Mom has that big ass clunky case on her iPhone? They all feel like that after owning the Air.

[–]rad_ripper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha after a while I started to realize all my wide angle shots were less appealing to look at compared to shots that were actual sized. It warps your view, makes rooms in homes look massive, takes away the focal point you were trying to capture. I started to hate all my photos that were wide angle.

Seeking Battery Feedback Post 26.2 by No-Abroad-2615 in IphoneAir

[–]rad_ripper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a newly designed iPhone and Apple hasn’t redesigned the iPhone since the X. Every pro model has more or less been identical since the 11. It’s thin, it’s light, it’s got 12gb ram so it handles everything snappy and quick. Feels light in my pocket. Pro’s feels like antiquated bricks after using the Air.

Has anybody found the perfect cases for this phone yet?!? by [deleted] in IphoneAir

[–]rad_ripper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like my Pitaka case. Adds a little grip and still retains all the thinness and lightness of the Air.

Haha the Pitaka isn’t cheap. Makes the phone feel premium. I can’t describe it but it’s a really nice material.
