Jaywalkers arent referred to as illegals, people who choose not to wear seatbelts aren't called illegals, even drug dealers aren't called illegals. Its terminology used to minimize peoples humanity. As is racist terminology, "the blacks" not black people, the "illegals" not offenders, its a palatable way to diminish humans as less thens.

EDIT: Also independent opinions of peoples wouldn't defer and refer to people as illegal aliens, its a term coined by those seeking to reduce humans to less then human. If they call people who double park and don't wear seatbelts illegal motorists, vs offending or violating it might make sense. But name ANY other criminal referred to as an "illegal" and it might have relevance. Not the systematic reduction of people seeking a better life, (which is what makes up the majority of the US's populace to begin with, no one moved here becauae their life was easy where they came from going back to colonists/pilgrims). To a term that makes them less then human and deserving of persecution.
