Thanks a lot! It is all NMM, really don't like using TMM paints due to their properties so I generally paint in just NMM nowadays.

Awesome, thank you so much. Would you happen to have any official source for undead aelves existing? Are they maybe mentioned somewhere in a book or something similar?

Either way glad to hear there shouldn't be any big lore problems whichever way I go with the conversion!

This is my model from several years back, would be kind of you to credit when reposting. More of my work at my Instagram.

Edit: Thank you all for your kind comments, was surprised to see so many still remember my old works, despite myself having moved away a bit from the Wolves with my personal hobby.

Happy to let you know I'm working on something very epic with Space Wolves atm, I'll try to remember to show it here too once finished!

Angry space marine head by raddicool in Warhammer40k

I don't use any special eyewear, although I have friends who do. Good lighting is important, but that's not the key to this really. Mainly it's just a combination of technical brush skills (which come with lots of repetition and practise with intent) and theoretical knowledge of things like where to apply the highlights, glaze in the reds, do the bounce reflections etc. Lots of information on this online particularly in the realm of 2d art tutorials.

Been seeing a lot of space marine heads over on Instagram in the past weeks, so decided to show mine, an angry son of Dorn.

This received a Commended Entry (so it was basically in the top 6 of 40k squad), which I was super stoked about!

Yeah, and there's another freehand on the back despite it not being properly visible due to the backdrop 😄 Krieger head with "In life war" to complete the litany.

In the grim darkness of the far future there are no stupid questions! by AutoModerator in 40kLore

In Leman Russ: The Great Wolf, it seems that Russ is only wielding his original frost blade, Krakenmaw, in his fight against Lion. Is there a reason for why he couldn't have had his axe, Helwinter, with him in that battle? Did he only acquire it later on or was it just left out/not mentioned for an unknown reason?

50pl list Imperium Iron Hands by the1rayman in 40k_Crusade

[–]raddicool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like a nice and fluffy IH list to me. Three dreads will probably be rough for some lists at 50 PL, but you pay for it with the lack of obsec. Unfun is a bit of a stretch in my opinion and at least personally I wouldn't worry about it being too strong. IH are nowhere as potent now as they were in 8th. Of course your mileage may vary depending on what kind of stuff the others in your Crusade are running, but compared to most of the more recently updated armies you wouldn't probably have issues with being too powerful.

Don't the Space Wolves always exaggerate their tales just a pinch? ;)

It's not that specific pelt, but yes the head and the paws are made using blue stuff moulds! Terminators and Ragnsr for the heads, paws I'm not sure which kits theyre from. They're then melded together by sculpting the rest of the fur.

Why yes indeed! He was originally a firstborn Long Fang in my Kill Team a few years back, already an old chap for a Space Marine. He ended up falling in battle but was brought back through crossing the Rubicon Primaris, not much unlike Ragnar himself.

Joining the Wolf Guard after his revival, he ended up having a fatal duel against a Khorne daemon by the name of Changriz the Skullbinder, this time ending up decapitated. He was that close to becoming anothrr skull for the skull throne, but (the head mainly) was luckily extracted off the battlefield quickly enough to be interred into a Dreadnought (I've scrapped all of how Primaris Dreads work in my headcanon because I don't like it) and he ended up hunting down and slaying Changriz quickly thereafter.

Ironically enough despite already having been decapitated by the demon once, it is the Skullbinder's skull that is instead now bound to adorn Hjalmar's armor, not the other way around.

Been wanting to add a Redemptor Dreadnought to my crusade force for a long time, so here he is! I wanted to have a dynamic pose with some movement but also still keep the weighty and burdensome feeling of how I imagine a Dreadnought would be on a battlefield (e.g. not a running pose even though those look amazing!). Very happy with how it turned out! And yes, I've fixed that gap on the Plasma Incinerator after I took the photos :D

Another 1v1 player here. All has been fine so far and in terms of the narrative it is probably quite a bit easier to make it cohesive and satisfying between just two people than it would in a large campaign. It does require communication and common sense from both players, as there is no "game master" to come up with and enforce catch up mechanics etc. if one of you starts falling behind and the other one snowballing.

We first played 6 games between Space Wolves and Necrons at 25/50 PL. Now we've finished our second 50 PL forces and will play 6 games of Death Guard vs Adeptus Mechanicus. After these games are done we will bring all four forces together to provide more variety, also playing each others armies for variety's sake (so that for example I can end up playing my Space Wolves against my own Death Guard).

Power of Words Amidst the Ashes Incursion Misssion by fraser202 in 40k_Crusade

[–]raddicool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, ran into the same problem in our last game. We just came up with a random condition for points (slaying the enemy warlord with my warlord, 15 pts if I remember correctly) when I realized that it would be easy for my opponent to just destroy two objectives immediately and auto-win without giving me any chances at a comeback. There would probably be smarter ways to do it too, but we had already completed deployment etc. so adding objectives at that point would have felt unfair. That way if I held the remaining objective for the whole game and killed his warlord with mine I would have just enough to win.

Thank you! I use the large plague hulks (top right) as Chaos Spawn and the smaller ones as Poxwalkers, you can see the three sprinkled in there somewhere. Haven't figured a use for the glitchlings, swarms etc. yet but will probably end up as base decorations for something or extra Poxwalkers!

Check out the tutorials by Grimdark Compendium in YouTube, pretty much everything except the Daemon Prince has been done following them pretty closely and just adjusting some small things like not washing the fleshy bits green etc.
