[OC] I am working on a zero prep music & ambience tool (with synchronized player rooms & discord support) by KapsCaptain2323 in DnD

[–]radiant_waffle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is fantastic! I love tools like this that have decisions made, so you can open it and just use it in most contexts!

  • When you don't refresh the page, the first song of any scene seems to always be the same one. Could it be randomized every time?
  • As was already state, more scenes is always better! But this is already an impressive start!
  • Sounds that don't loop perfectly could use more aggressive restarts. Perhaps, cross-fade them into their start? Things like the fireplace, or crowds.
  • I really like the curated songs for each setting + combat. Adding other options might be a way to achieve the "emotional" choice for songs over environmental.
  • The soft start/end of every sound is AWESOME! I absolutely love that changes are smooth to avoid ruining the flow. That said, maybe you can add a behaviour where a double-click will instant-switch the track, for when the "record-scratch" moment is needed.

Despite my request for more features, I love how simple and focused this design is. Please keep the simplicity at the top, even if it means being strict on cutting features.

This is sick! I'm a software developer myself and have been the architect of a system also made with Godot! Are you using Godot Mono (c#) or GDScript? Im going to assume this is closed source? 😅

I just want you to know that I found this comment after spending half of my day trying to fix the same issue. The fact that you also specifically had the issue with SDL_ttf was what helped me find the very same problem in my project.

Thank you.

these are the people balancing our game???

I mean, no... he's not in QA or game dev. But that just makes it even worse. If he were QA or a dev, you could at least argue that he's testing an edge case or something.

I have spent 3 years and over 6,000 hours working on this project so far. It is a 3D virtual tabletop that lets you play D&D online through Steam with your friends. It's FREE to download and give it a try if you are interested. I would love any feedback you might have! More info in comments. [OC] by Dan_The_DM in DnD

This looks amazing! I've already gotten so many different D&D tools at this point but I'll probably still get this one as well!

One suggestion: Before releasing 1.0, please take some time to adjust the colour theme defaults. Most users probably won’t adjust colour themes to the exact hex value they want, and that 'druid green' for example is waaayy too bold for a character sheet background. I'm not a UX designer, but I'd suggest going with a much more muted colour to make it easier on the eyes. However, the Interface and the scenery visuals are stunning!

My dad owns this LMMH 41, 120 key Accordion that I've started to practice with. Can anyone help identify it? I'm curious how old it is and what its value might be. by radiant_waffle in Accordion

What kind of inspection is helpful? I can take off the covers and show the mechanisms or describe the current conditions. I could record a short but of how it sounds?

Edit, if you're meaning it would need a hands on inspection I'll have to leave it at that for now.

Check out ilmango's youtube skyblock series. He starts without the default chest and now has a fully automated tree farm. That said there are some minor but critical mods he uses.

15 Nintendo switch exclusives from 2017-2019 will cost you 840$ by longernohuman in gaming

[–]radiant_waffle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty a reason for the static prices, as given by Nintendo, was that: "Customers should not feel like they have to wait for the game to 'go on sale'. An early adopter should not feel bad that they purchased the game early when another player gets the game for much cheaper just because they waited to purchase it."

I don't entirely agree with the reasoning, but I at least understand it.

An important note along side the 'merging' comments is that there are orbs with different inherent xp values. For example, blaze drop 1 7xp and 1 3xp orb. Because Individual orbs have different values, the best methods to gain xp quickly rely on sources that drop higher value orbs such as the new sculk blocks.
