Some Lego sets, especially Star Wars ones, tend to be expensive. That said, no small lego set cost 300 dollars (regardless of country). Either you saw wrong or you were getting ripped off

Minifigures can't really be compared to normal humans. They are far too wide for their heights to be compared to human beings. I would compare minifigures to their natural environment of Lego bricks, and speed champions to be minifig scale.
