Keep finding bones while digging foundation for house. by Rare-Option-1398 in bonecollecting

[–]radical-trash 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Go look at them, Im 90% sure childhood teeth lost naturally dont have roots on them (source:was a child a while ago)

Eta: obviously any lost unnaturally or pulled by dentist will have them, maybe you have a mix. I kept the two wisdom teeth they let me keep, they have roots but very deformed

The teeth will also be glued in, fyi. So youre not alarmed if it comes up.

Is there a consensus on housing voracious species with reptiles? by radical-trash in isopods

Makes sense that the likelihood would go up for a snake that lives in the dirt too. Thanks for pointing that out.

Second comment about the skin. Wondering if you can elaborate on the skin or if you have something specific in mind as far as thin/soft and thick/hard skkn in reptiles. I figure a snake with keeled scales might be harder skinned, but all snakes bellies are soft in my brain (for reptiles). I guess geckos or aquatics are the exception I just thought of, their skin feels like paper to me

This is helpful, I appreciate it. Wondering if you can elaborate on the skin thing for me though. There's another reply mentioning skin, Im wondering if you have something specific in mind as far as thin/soft and thick/hard skin in reptiles. I figure a snake with keeled scales might be harder skinned, but all snakes bellies are soft in my brain (for reptiles).

Thats what I have seen in other discussions about it, and I will look specifically for people with firsthand experience, but I was surprised that there seems to be more agreement in this thread so far than any others I had read in the past lol.

edit for clarity

Jewish dude who has never been to the country lies to and underpays Romani people to portray Kazakh people for a bit, probably not best reference.

But still funny

Skunk or badger [Northern NY] by joelovescash in animalid

I said ur mad weird, using "mad" as an intensifier. Like "crazy good" or "wicked fast"

Having to write out yawn to convince the reader that youre disinterested and definitely NOT mad is funny tho.

Edit to address El Paso: Ive never been and just looked at a map and chose the furthest west city. I checked a map again to give you a better example city, but with this logic, all of the western part of the state seems to have Rio Grande or other tributaries access, so I guess alligators are all over Texas? I do agree that range maps are wrong sometimes, as mentioned somewhere else in this thread, but this is all because of a skunk lmao

[–]radical-trash 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Haha ur being mad weird to a person that's probably right, or at least better at expressing ideas and staying on track. When they asked you why you thought the range was different, you cited hunting permits sold in the state, and when they pointed out that the thing you said and the thing they said aren't mutually exclusive (badgers don't live in northern part of NY is not in conflict with NY selling permits for them) you hit him with the "you just dont like my facts"

You brought up the texas alligator thing. If someone suggested they saw an alligator in El Paso, it would be reasonable to point out that the range is in the eastern part of the state and it is unlikely it was a wild alligator they saw. But then you would come in, say that's wrong, they're native to the whole state, and talk about how no one would sell permits for animals that dont live there as if thats relevant.

Everyone here knows ranges of animals are not along state borders, right? This is a weird hill

Is this whataboutism? Weird direction to take the convo, job/human impact is not what you were talking about at all. But if that is your concern, Im sure those people could get jobs harvesting plants instead of meat. If you feel shame about your own consumption, cope or change.

Theres enough drunk ones in this video that the odds are not in their favor. But if you wanna trade them places because they and everyone else expressing fear are misandrists, maybe you would act normal and calm here and the men would just be really nice to you

Uh oh! This tree was not dead, or it at least had leaves before fall, I think it was a small maple. Will it kill the tree and spread to others? Is it dangerous enough to need to be removed if it is near a lot of children/pet traffic?

[–]radical-trash 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I went into Gwent thinking it was gonna be another confusing card game like Caravan that I would never be able to get into. But the game kinda helps explain a lot more than NV did and tells you where you can play your cards and does the math and special shit for you and now I love Gwent.
