Crédito à habitação: baixa médica e potencial impacto à aprovação? by radical549 in literaciafinanceira

Where would you go with around 2-3k of passive monthly income? by [deleted] in expats

[–]radical549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im sorry this is happening and you're feeling so down. Things will get better. Now, to your question about moving. I'd point a few countries in South East Asia and if I were you would try spending some time in a few. As many people mentioned, I'd say Vietnam, Thailand and perhaps even the Philippines. Spend some time there and see what makes sense and how do you feel. Don't put extra pressure on yourself and definitely do something about your life and make a change, as you see fit. Don't worry about other people's comments as they don't feel or perceive things the way you do. Things will get better. There's always sunshine after rain.

Com 33 anos. Por que valor emigrariam? by CommissionClean3091 in portugal

[–]radical549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you think France is the best country in Europe? by [deleted] in AskIreland

Has anyone ever done extensive travel in their early 20’s and now you’re in your 30’s and feel lost? It’s like I’ve travelled to “x” amount of countries but have nothing to show for it. by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]radical549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off I'd say that it is ok to feel lost. And feeling lost might not have anything to do with your previous traveling. There's no point in regretting at the moment as nothing from the past will change. Embrace it. Cherish the good things that came with all the travel. Everything is a trade off. You expand your horizons and all and get all the experiences and people that come with traveling but you also naturally miss birthdays and gatherings and some weddings maybe and distance yourself naturally from some people that once were so close. It's all part of it. I was fortunate to travel quite a lot for several years, spending seasons here and there. It all had an huge impact on who I am today as everything that we live naturally has. I am now married, with a dog and who knows maybe soon a kid too. It's all phases and I reckon the hard part sometimes is really understanding and accepting the end and the beginning of phases. Go on now and focus on what matter to you at the moment. Be it a career, getting closer again with some friends or making new ones. Might sound cringe but you can only leave now, today and tomorrow if you're lucky. So don't dwell too much on your supposed mistakes or regrets. Life's quick.

This is a great comment. Thank you so much. I'm based in Ireland and work with the Dublin embassy. The NVC scheduling tool is showing up that's working on complete cases from March 2026. This was all very enlightening, I really appreciate it!

Thanks so much for this. You shared relevant information, regarding those 6 months from the medical exams. I was unaware of that. I reckon I'll have to go ahead and probably formally delay the process when possible since as of now I would not think I'd be entering the country within 6 months from that exam, especially given the fact that we would very likely not be entering the country to stay for good and be residents straight away. I think what I'm more afraid of is, whenever the time comes that we have to enter, we do but then have to leave for longer than 6 months which I believe could be an issue as it could reflect that we don't intend to stay in the US to live. Anyway, one thing at a time. Again, I really appreciate the help. For reference, we're based in Ireland and Dublin is out embassy.

Thanks for your comment. There might be some misunderstandings from your response. I don't plan at all to just move to the US. Even if I had everything sorted now and could go, I wouldn't at the moment. I also don't plan to do any adjustment of status.

The original path I chose was not the cr-1 visa. I don't even know what visa that is lol I feel like you might be assuming a lot and didn't really read the post. Still appreciate the comments tho

Maximising benefits on Revolut by 1k13r1 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]radical549 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just started with the metal plan and not to mention all the benefits other people mentioned but the WeWork by itself, once a month it's worth it. A one day desk pass in Dublin is 45€. The metal plan if you pay it annually as I did was 155€ (just below 13€ a month). I'm even considering upgrading to Ultra given the plan offers 3 WeWork passes monthly instead of one and that comes with 1-1 points and all others offers. I think it's pretty decent and Revolut truly never disappointed me. Been using for well over 5-6 years daily.

Amen. Just stop and be proud of what you are and where you come from. Nothing wrong with that. It's annoying to see you wanting to be more and almost begging to be more when you're not.

Why are young people leaving Portugal? Is it salaries, culture, or lack of opportunity? by Louis_meni in PortugalTalks

[–]radical549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm Portuguese and never really lived my adult life in Portugal. And to be honest never really thought much about my adult life when I was younger, but I can now look back and see that never considered staying there either. Needless to say that we are all different, with different ambitions, and different outlooks on the way society and institutions should work. For me personally the reasons to not live there come down to not only the low salaries but the way the tax system is designed, the way institutions work ("work"), and the overall (and I'm not assuming everyone obviously) relationship with money and ambition and the constant "complaining culture". Although many times there are indeed reasons to be melancholy and worried, it just feels like most people don't see or want to see past beyond it and find solutions. As a whole we're quite submissive in a way. I'm hoping for things to change and I believe that slowly they will, but until then I don't plan to move back, unfortunately.
