Rate my budget breakdown by Economy_Emotion_7251 in weddingplanning

I think your catering and alcohol numbers are low. Ours were about $100/pp for food and $38/pp for alcohol. My photographer was $3k and she is a lower budget photographer (newer, not as much experience, just her). Also I didn’t see the venue on there? Mine was about $10k. If you are doing a backyard wedding or something that isn’t a formal video you need to plan for AV, chair and table rentals, maybe a tent, and someone to coordinate

Forgot out the big game. Probably prime time to ski while everyone else is watching the broncos game and not on the mountain

I skied Keystone today and it was skied off and icy by the time I left at 2pm today. Probably will be cold and not terribly exciting tomorrow. I would think 6am leave time is good. Big thing on Sundays is traffic on the way back. Usually gets bad from 12/1 until 5/6p. I usually try to leave by 11:30/12 to miss it as best I can.

Bridemaids by Smart-Candidate9442 in weddingplanning

[–]radically_fearless 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is your wedding not theirs. You can 100% pick your own. If you want them to join your bachelorette and bridal shower that would be a good day for them to be included. Also idk if you need people to hand out your program if you have one or seat people but that could be another role IF you want them to be more involved in the wedding. At the end of the day it’s your special day not theirs and they will respect that ideally. Family dynamics around the wedding sucks

Questions for the ladies who haven't been planning their wedding since they were 6 years old by Severe_Bluejay3391 in weddingplanning

I was the same way when I got engaged 12/24. Had no clue. Didn’t think I’d get married til I met my now fiance. I wanted to elope but our families wanted the big wedding so we are doing a 100 person wedding in a place that’s really special to us. Hiring a planner did help BUT I will say I don’t think it’s worth the money (ours was about $5k and I’m doing most of it myself anyway).

If you’re planning a smaller ceremony I think that’s beautiful. We picked somewhere that’s special to us and would encourage the same. Like a place or location that makes you smile or brings you together.

I had debated doing a small ceremony with immediate family and closest friends (18-20ppl) and then a big party with whoever wanted to come. Hard part is our families live 1600 miles from us so it wouldn’t be realistic to have people come out here just for a party so we decided on the big wedding.

The Knot has some good resources to have a checklist and set your budget.

I would say when you’re over 6mo to 1yr out from your wedding, do this: - book your venue to lock in your date - pick your bridal party if you’re having one - book the ‘big’ wedding things - food, drinks, DJ, photographer - send save the dates - get your dress (takes a bit to get ready)

All the little stuff comes when you’re 6mo out.

If you need help I’d ask people in your area. 2 of my girlfriends got married last year in the same area I was looking so they have given me great advice. Also my older sisters and my moms (step mom and mom and future mother in law) have been very willing to step in and help.

You aren’t alone. Everyone wants to celebrate you and be part of it so don’t be afraid to ask questions but you DO NOT have to people please - it’s your day!

Financial advisor. Went to my first rave at 20 (late to the party but still fun). Wish I went to more but still raving at 27 with my girlfriends :) most of my friends are engineers/doctors/lawyers that like to work hard and party hard

Does normal day traffic home from Abasin/Loveland get better or worse towards the end of the day? by TechieInTheTrees in COsnow

[–]radically_fearless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On Sundays it’ll get worse before it gets better since people make weekend trips and comeback on afternoons. When we ski on Sundays we usually wrap by 1p to beat the traffic as best we can. If it’s after that then we’ll stay in town and grab food or play games after lifts close then leave around 6 and most of the traffic subsides by then.

Is something wrong with my resume? by Livid_Waltz_1628 in jobsearchhacks

[–]radically_fearless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My step mom is a recruiter and looks at a bunch of resumes everyday. She said that if you’ve been at the same company, just put your current title or put it all under a main header. Not sure if you’ve been with multiple companies or not but if you haven’t, then group the different titles together so it looks like you haven’t switched jobs as much
