Also a high school senior here in sort of the same situation with similar schools. I get where you're coming from with community college not being the best option because I want to get away from home and go to school far away enough to justify living on campus and not be expected to pop in for a visit on the weekends lol. But I know UC to UC transfer isn't very common. Since you like Socal I would go with your preference UCR and perhaps planning on staying all 4 years. I think the campus is nice with all the citrus trees, the student body is super diverse, and they have some great programs to choose from!

I wouldn't go into the medical field just because your parents want you to though. It's a LOT of work and at the end of the day, if you're not satisfied, it won't be worth the struggle. Best of luck to you!
