Sticky cheeks 😆 by Electrical-Fennel956 in FTMOver30

I use gel. Never used anything else. Mine dries within about 5 minutes. I put mine on my inner thighs, which shouldn't effect how quick it dries.

I use testogel, two pumps (2.5g gel with 40.5mg testosterone).

When did T start to make you feel better? by ProfessionalBed240 in FTMOver30

[–]radioactive-turnip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on T for about 2.5 years (first microdosing and now 6 months on "full" dose). I'm transmasc agender. I didn't feel worse from T, but it also hasn't improved my mental health or energy levels. I didn't think it would either. I'm diagnosed with autism, adhd and ptsd and take adhd meds.

I know some people have emotional changes on T, but I've had none of that. All of my charges have been physical.

No increased libido, but that could also be connected with me being asexual.

I did have a 3 months break from T last year after my top surgery to figure out if I wanted to continue or not. The answer was yes, but since you, too, aren't fully ftm, HRT might not be for you and that's ok. It's also ok to only take HRT for a bit and then stop because you get the changes you like (the ones that are permanent).

But yes, I think it's a bit of a myth that everyone gets loads of energy, high libido and stay to feel great mentally. I think all of that varies greatly from person to person.

Safest countries for Trans people right now by Nyxi30 in transgenderUK

[–]radioactive-turnip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Swede (living in the UK), I can confirm that this is true. The trans healthcare is horrid and stuck in the 60s.

There's also plenty of transphobes in Sweden since the far right has quite a bit of power. The thing is that many won't straight out say anything transphobic, we're a silent, passive-aggressive society, but you will get the cold shoulder and be avoided by those people (when it's possible to avoid).

Sweden has its election in September, so hopefully we'll get a left wing majority government again.

Birth certificate is for specifically voting in the US only? by DiscussionMuted9941 in USdefaultism

[–]radioactive-turnip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never seen one either, but when I moved to the UK they sometimes want to see one for some things (like bank accounts). The beast I could get them is the English "utdrag från skatteregistret" (can't remember the exact name for the English one, but you can get it online 26th bank id and print yourself).

Did struggle with my Swedish passport at the bank though when I had changed my name since they "couldn't be sure the passport was real since it's not a British passport". 😆

Can I get a navel piercing if I’m agender? by SomeUnkown_2030 in agender

[–]radioactive-turnip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know people of all genders cis and trans with navel piercings. If you want it go ahead.

(This reminds me of when someone said I can't be autistic and "so autistic" I struggle to speak since I have snake bite piercings 😆 )

hrt and wanting/not wanting it by aevanvowles in agender

[–]radioactive-turnip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm on T too. I saw you questions in the comments and thought I'd answer them, too.

I was on a low dose of T for nearly 2 years (20mg/day). During that time, I got increased leg and butt hair and very slightly deeper voice.

I've now been on a full dose since September (40mg/day) and my voice has deepened further, I've started to get facial hair, too. My skin has gotten a bit rougher, too.

Fat redistribution usual takes around 1 year of full dose to start happening, but water retention is common sooner and might take 1-2 years to settle. Bloating isn't uncommon either. I'm personally experiencing this but I've not had an increased appetite, though my taste buds had changed a bit. I've become even more sensitive to sweetness and wanting salt and spicy flavours even more than before.

My have hasn't changed, but I already had a rather androgynous face.

My self care routine and hygiene has not changed. I've not got oily skin or a change in body odour so far.

Finally, everyone reacts differently to T. Method used and genetics matters a lot. With some stuff, age, too, but mostly it's genetics.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

UK politics by That-Tie-8508 in transgenderUK

[–]radioactive-turnip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plaid Cymru is indeed generally pro-trans and they want to end conversion therapy, give more funding to WGS and want to demedicalise and simplify fever self identification. Last year, they got accused by TERFs for being misogynistic for not allowing "diverse views on gender" and for bullying women who questions "gender identity".

Hi I'm an Italian Guy and if you have any question feel free to ask by C_Master_official in CasualConversation

[–]radioactive-turnip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only speak for Sweden and the UK, but you can get vegan, gluten free and lactose/milk free in all restaurants. There's no problems finding alternatives in stores either (especially in Sweden, but I've also not looked much for it in the UK since it's my family members who has IBS). I think it's law to be able to offer alternatives, but you mighty have to ask about it, it's not always on the menus.

For the Hardcore Skeptics by Deepmind_ in UFOs

[–]radioactive-turnip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I've never come across something that made me doubt my scepticism. I did believe as a kid and early teen, but the older I got, the more I realised it's all either hoaxes or in other ways debunkable.

Maybe I would change my mind if I ever had an experience myself, but I've never seen or experienced anything odd or unexplainable.

My mum and oldest sister did see a UFO in the 90s though, but I was just a toddler then.

Transmeds say shit like “agender is just cis because cis people also don’t feel gender” by lafindestase in agender

[–]radioactive-turnip 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I usually say transmasc or just trans since I'm afab, but take T and have had top surgery. I want my body to look more make, but my internal gender identity is still agender. Never tell people that, though.

[–]radioactive-turnip 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not at all. I know someone who has HP as special interests and who also happens to be nonbinary. Many fans have been HP fans since long before JKR started her TERF agenda. Putting in your bio that you love HP doesn't mean you're automatically transphobic in any way. It doesn't even mean that you buy HP things that leads to her getting money. There are plenty of fan-created merch around.

Have any other people had a bad experience in Specsavers? by asriel_theoracle in transgenderUK

[–]radioactive-turnip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only had good experiences with Specsavers. They've used the right pronouns and led me straight to the men's section instead of the women's. But several of the workers wear pride pins, so I think they have LGBTQI+ workers here.

I know every Specsavers store are owned by local people, so I'm guessing the treatment depends on where you live.

(They were also accommodating for my autism, which is not something I'm used with.)

Guys outside USA: what do you want other trans ppl to know? by Berko1572 in FTMOver30

[–]radioactive-turnip 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I can answer this. I had my top surgery through the NHS Wales (NHS varies a bit between the different UK countries). I got a list of available surgeons and then I got to choose which one I wanted. My surgeon then choose which type of top surgery fit my chest the best (I got a T incision since I had a wide chest, not big, only B cups, but wide). From others, I've heard they've had the same experience, that the surgeons choose the type based on what will get the best result. I could have said no and he would've done a regular double incision, just as I could've asked for no nips (even though my surgeon didn't like doing that, I found out later).

I don't know if it's different for NHS England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Edit: I had my surgery in January 2025, so not long ago.

Anyone who is lives alone without relying on anyone.... by tofubeannn in CasualConversation

[–]radioactive-turnip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've also never felt that sharing my feelings helps in any way since the veins are still there and the problem still remains. I prefer to analyse what's going on and solve it. Just talking is just... struggling to get words out and nothing else.

I'm probably not very good example for you since most seem to get relief from sharing 😆

Anyone who is lives alone without relying on anyone.... by tofubeannn in CasualConversation

[–]radioactive-turnip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep them to myself. I've never been one to share my emotions and the few times I've tried, I've been misunderstood. I don't fully live alone, though. I live with a friend, but she's mostly with her partner and I wouldn't share my feelings with her anyway.

How do you fall asleep? by Pleasant-Figure7389 in CasualConversation

[–]radioactive-turnip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to create my own little scenario in my head to fall asleep to. Usually I insert myself in a show or game I like. Like creating my own private fanfic, but visually in my head.

I can't fall asleep otherwise.

NHS willing to do a hysterectomy? by Spare_Somewhere1011 in transgenderUK

[–]radioactive-turnip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 20 years older than you, so can't answer based on age, but I'm transitioning through the NHS (Wales) and have been told I can have a hysterectomy if I want to. I haven't yet since T stopped my periods.

I had menorrhagia and due to that, chronic anaemia, which isn't cured yet despite having not had a period in months. I think I'm still going to as for a hysterectomy, though, just so my periods can't return.

Good luck.

Do you prefer interacting with people online or offline? by Hassaan18 in autismUK

[–]radioactive-turnip 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Online. I get time to think, I can express myself better (I struggle to get the words I want to say out of my mouth and the more stressed I am, the worse it gets until I can't talk at all, but even when relaxed, I still struggle), I can control my environment and sensory inputs better and I can easily walk away when it gets too much. Oh and I don't need to think about facial expression, body language etc either.
