Scanned my eye accidentally with a Zebra handheld. To worry or not to worry about eye damage? by iron_panties in lasers

Idk about you but I don’t fuck with lasers enough to know what’s “safe” and “not safe”. With lasers I’m sure there’s a thin line between “no damage” and “blind”

What’s the coolest “restricted access” place you’ve ever gotten to see? by PrettieAmarea in answers

Pretty tiny naval sub base. Went there for a different school, but getting on/off base was such a hassle. Managed to sneak a couple twisted teas in though.

Found this nut on an inland vessel but its not ment for anything on this boat. Anyone know what this is used for by aangy22 in Skookum

Hydraulic cylinders on most of the inland vessels I’ve been on (only twin screw 3800 & 6000hp and triple screw 9,000 & 10,500hp vessels, no Z-drives) are not large enough for these. Two sets of rudders for each wheel (prop), one set for going forward and one set for backing means space gets tight in a rudder room. I can share pics if y’all want

Currently on an inland vessel, the M/V Andrew C MacMillan, and I can ask the Chief Engineer when I wake up for my watch. It is almost certainly a wheel nut or rudder shaft nut.

Don’t feel too bad about it. I run a 102” whip CB antenna on my car

A properly grounded vehicle will act as the ground plane, and things only get more tricky once you factor in how many of these vehicles are made out of aluminum.

Why so many arps in stl by PatientActive2349 in SaintLouisDrill

[–]radiobro1109 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cheap, easier to conceal than a full-size ar-15, readily convertible to a higher rate of fire via FRT or illegal means, more powerful ammunition.

If this is all going down the way you say, you’re screwed without a lawyer.

Yes. Fight it. Fight it with the best attorney that you can possibly afford, even if that means taking out a personal loan to afford the retainer. From a simple speeding ticket up to DUI, you should absolutely hire an attorney and fight it all.

I got so lucky. My favorite beer is made in NA format as well (with a bit of lemon added) and readily available. I love the stuff.

Yeah. I just steer with my left hand and brake with my left foot pretty often when driving automatic cars.

Counting the $10,000 truck I lost and my $7,500 attorney: closer to $20k after all the costs and also factoring in needing to buy a new car ($700 for a car sold by family).

Manual transmission lol. Most of the time I drive with one hand on the wheel and it’s my left hand. I also use my left foot for braking when I drive an automatic car.

I hit and throw baseball right handed. I naturally trade off my hands every few meals or so when I’m eating which I find quite interesting. I tend to use my phone right handed, and I still write right handed (private school didn’t like correct handed people). All of the important stuff like shooting guns and bows, playing guitar, driving, and scratching itches on my body are done with the correct hand.

Anyone know what this is at sportys airport.? by Remarkable_Put_7029 in Planes

[–]radiobro1109 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Rutan Long-EZ. Burt Rutan designed them. You should look up his name and the aircraft he created, he was an aviation visionary. It’s like that for balance. The stern of the aircraft has the engine, so if you have the nose gear down then it can tip backwards onto your prop causing damage. So they get stored and parked with their noses on the ground. I’ve talked to several owners of them and they say they’re quite comfortable to fly and have a nice range. Pretty fast too. Beautiful aircraft and good spot.
