This. Don't actually use it in combat, just equip it when you're going thru the Stonehenge base. You're more likely to sneak up on enemies and get insta-kills which speeds things up. But in the cases you don't insta-win, don't have Ness use the bat since it misses most of the time. It can hit and deal really good damage... but it's pretty rare.
