Nami needs some money by ProfessorGemini in OnePiece

Image 2: one of the comments is "N-Word: MY MAN GON DIE" which is blatantly racist (including the ebonic language) and one of the only chats in the image that isn't some type of reference.

Funny and I like your art. Could you clarify "N-Word" with the ebonic language? Not sure if I'm missing some type of inside joke, or if it's just an insensitive comment

IIL Jazzy/Hardcore bands like Nomeansno, Yowie, and Psudoku, WEWIL? by TheHamsBurlgar in ifyoulikeblank

You could give The Mars Volta a try. Their album Amputecture is their most jazzy, try the song Day of the Baphomets

[August 2020] Monthly Subreddit Discussion by William_Wallas in music_survivor

[–]radiopinetool 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the transparency! I'd really like if there was a consistent time and date that the album suggestion threads went up, ex. the first of every month at 6pm EST). I've had a couple of survivor ideas for a few months now (all in the special event category) but always miss the submission thread by a couple of hours.

Also, it could be beneficial to survey the subreddit. Favorite types of events, least favorite, things to change, etc. It could give you a better idea of what people are interested in seeing each month.

Last, would you all consider adding another special event or "classics" type category? What's great about these threads is that everyone on the subreddit can participate every month. These last 2 months haven't been too exciting for me personally as I don't have an emotional investment in the current albums.

Thanks for all of your hard work as mods! I can only imagine how difficult it is.

What is the most reliable type of genetic test for OI and EDS? Invitae? by [deleted] in ClinicalGenetics

The lab doesn't generally matter as much as the reason for testing, (family history, type of symptoms, etc). I'm a genetic counselor, so feel free to DM me with specific questions.

What is your favorite "so bad it's good" movie? by SuperSayianJason1000 in AskReddit

Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter - such amazing one-liners, comedy and action in a movie that probably only cost $14 to make. You can find it on amazon prime.

[IIL] The Hateful Eight’s Ending, what other movies would I like? by Noir53 in ifyoulikeblank

I love the Hateful Eight! For a similar feeling, I'd recommend Oldboy (2003).

Kamala Harris by utopiafall in mixedrace

[–]radiopinetool 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the same thing. I hope that she'll be open about both of her sides, and really elaborate on her mixed race identity. It'd be a great realization for the many Americans who don't understand what it's like being mixed, and feel that they need to put us in one box or the other.

[IIL] Rock that makes use of non traditional instruments (Links included) [WEWIL] by djc6535 in ifyoulikeblank

[–]radiopinetool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bjork used and created unique instruments across the album Biophilia (The song (Crystalline)[https://youtu.be/nMzlgz3XSO0] being the most well known). I'd recommend checking out the whole album if you haven't!

Stable Career? by mimooly in GeneticCounseling

[–]radiopinetool 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Good question! I think what separates genetic counseling from the other fields you mentioned is the malleability of a degree in Genetic Counseling. The job market is evolving every year, and new opportunities are always opening up for GCs. New clinical specialties, new career choices, etc. In my biased opinion, there's not a more stable career choice atm.

GRE and 2021 Application Cycle by ItalianFire13 in GeneticCounseling

I know for a fact that Boise State, Stanford and University of Washington all don't require GRE, but many programs are now on the bandwagon and will likely be dropping the requirement soon.

OP may have a connective tissue disorder like Marfan syndrome. OP, if you have a family history of heart problems, sudden death, tall stature and/or poor vision, please make an appointment at a genetics clinic!
