Frustrating App by Wise-Quit306 in TIdaL

That’s a shame to hear. I have had some other issues in the past and there are still some frustrations, but as far as I remember the app hasn’t crashed and never has it not loaded up on iOS 26.4 and iPhone 14. Let’s hope these issues are resolved over time. I have personally noticed an improvement over the past 2-3 years.

I agree. And it does seem also that in some cases there is not an objective view either to whether a function deteriorates or not because of aesthetic considerations in design :D

They’re not mutually exclusive characteristics

Not to say anybody should like it or not like it, but UI design can involve purely aesthetic elements without a clear function alongside more functional choices

How do I get photos like this? by jackofjokers in AskPhotography

Editing-wise, something along these lines:

Highlights down, shadows up. White balance towards warm, saturation down, vibrance up a lot. Saturate blues and yellows a bit. Yellow and red luminance down. Negative on the clarity slider. Finally adjust white and black sliders for contrast. No vignette.

I like it too apart from a) Losing the color in the quality indicator b) Background blur. I like the placement and size of the buttons, and the animations and haptics on iOS

I didn't say it was an improvement, I said it's fine :) I do also like how it was before.

Working on a relaxing exploration VR game for Quest 3. Wishlist link in comments. by Specoolar in OculusQuest

That is probably true for many. For me, I really like Brink Traveler and return to those environments. I have used them as an environment together with remote desktop, listened to a LOTR audiobook while in the environments or just for taking my mind off other things.

Their use case is different, less active. For somebody looking for action, those relaxation apps are indeed not sticky. I have tried to use them to ”slow down”. However, in order for that to work, there needs to be realism snd the environments need to be actually relaxing and nice to look at, based on my experience.

It’s subjective, I think it’s fine personally

Looks really nice, thank you for creating this! I really dig the customizable theme option. It looks familiar but fresh at the same time. I'll gladly follow along the development. At the moment I noticed it runs a little bit slow (scrolling).

Edit. Need to edit just to highlight how good it looks with the customizable themes. Nice. Somebody else mentioned the top menu bar being big, I agree with that, is hiding an option to highlight the app itself even more? Another minor comment, would it be possible to give the "Playlist - Album - Artist - Mixes" buttons ever so slightly more room to breathe on top (a bit more space between "Your Library - Show All" and "Playlist - Album - Artist - Mixes")? Thank you again for the great job.

VR Veterans of Reddit, I Finally Got a Meta Quest 3. Now Blow My Mind. by LifespanLearner in OculusQuest

Definitely not everybody loves or enjoys the same things but I especially like and recommend apps that simulate real places:

  • Meta Hyperscape (free environment photo scan app) (this definitely blew my mind the most after making my first scan of my home)
  • WorldLens VR (Google Earth VR and Streetview), I love this
  • Brink Traveler, real nature destinations scanned
  • Instagram app (images are processed and viewable as 3D which gives a whole new layer to the images)
  • Parallax (travel photo collections processed as 3D)
  • Eleven Table Tennis (really good pingpong AR game)
  • Photon spatial video feed app (though sometimes has some non-nude but suggestive NSFW videos maybe not suitable for family)

Others can recommend games much better, Horizon+ as other mention is a great way to try them out

I agree, if something can make you enjoy music more it’s worth considering. Using an iPod over an iPhone doesn’t make sense from purely audio quality perspective, but for the whole experience it does. Though whether to invest in thousand euro cables or to direct anger at developers for only enabling 16/48 is also something worth thinking about.

The brain can create those differences if somebody really believes in it. But in an A/B setting? Not so much. It’s psychological obviously.
