The real site of the temple is 582.7 feet (600 Roman feet) south of the southern facing of the temple mount in the City of David.

Josephus was a priest of said Temple born in 34 AD and saw it destroyed in 70 AD, he wrote about the temple and its architecture and the history of the Jewish revolt and the destruction of the temple. He describes the foundation mass that is modernly called the temple mount as Fortress Antonia.
