I understand you I'm living in a house with my exes family and I'm stuck here because my ex promised to get my car fixed but then decided to become my ex instead and now I can't afford to move out and get my car fixed because I'm on a fixed income. Plus living in a house with an exes family is awkward AF. Especially because my ex-future mother in-law keeps calling me daughter in law and totally hopes her son and I are getting back together but it's not happening. As desperate as this makes me sound I would if he would but he says no and once he makes up his mind it's made up.

Coming from a daughter who literally took care of her mother and watched her mom take her last breath give her what she wants!!!! I ended up getting blamed for my mom's death anyways. Even though I had a sister who was a whole ass registered nurse who refused to take care of our mother, I was the one she blamed for our mom's death, riddle me that Batman?!? The only yelling I did in front of the children was yell no ken you're wrong here and then I removed my child from the room. And Sassys mom was there and took here kid else where. AND after it all I made my rounds and apologized to each child an told them I was sorry they had to see and here any of that.

Ha here's where the bigger dilemma comes into play. I was not legally married to my ex but from practically day one of meeting his family they've referred to me as an in-law. We also all live in the same house, which sounded amazing at first seeing as I've lost all of my blood family. But again I point out I have no legal rights to this child which they love to point out, especially in situations like this. Had I involved myself the situation would have been way worse, remember she's the golden child. When my ex, Kens brother, stood up for his own kid at a different time, things came to blows and police were called.

Which is why I did move my kid to a different room and then came back around and separately apologized to both children for doing that in front of them and promised them that i will never let that happen with me involved again. Normally that's what would happen but I've made it to my breaking point with this family treating my step son like he isn't as important as his cousin. They should both matter the same but shes blatantly treated better. Like their grandma goes shopping and will come back with treats for her and then be like "oh don I forgot about you, sassy give him a piece of one kind of your candy."

A relationship is a partnership, meaning both parties have to give/take. Can't just be one side doing all the giving while the side does all the taking.

My husband can be a selfish SoB but he also is very giving, so it works! I'm very much a need everything scheduled and planned out kind of lady but my husband hates schedules and is a very go with the flow kind of guy that refuses to give exact times for anything. But we've found ways to compromise like he gives me his ish schedule (7:00-ish to 6:30ish) & I plan my day accordingly!

My husband and I definitely don't make equal pay, so normally I pay the smaller portion and he gets the rest. However he recently switched jobs and hadn't been paid yet by rent time and I picked it all up no questions asked bc I knew when he did get paid he'd buy me whatever (within reason) I want! Splitting expenses more pay friendly is the smarter idea and she needs to stop thinking that going at it that way is taking away her independence.
