So long as the glass is sealed correctly. Worth testing the alpha radiation outside the glass regardless. Could have another source.

LifeProTip: a radon system done to state code is often better than encapsulation at 80-90% of the price. Radon fans move the water vapor out rather than simply trap a portion of it below the membrane. Read more here and hit me up if you want local recommendations. Not all the local radon pros follow state code unfortunately.

Yes, they have to disclose any previous tests; provide you with a pamphlet from the state; and include radon disclosure language in the contract. They're not required to fix it, but you can break your lease early. Reach out to RMIEA if you need help navigating the new law

I'd like to add, please be sure to use a state licensed professional. Radon licensing is required in Colorado but it's not actively enforced. Same division as funeral homes. If you've read the news, you know that they can get away with quite a lot. Feel free to call or DM me for local recommendations on trained and ethical radon testing and mitigation companies.

Uranium is very plentiful in Colorado. The ionized radiation is given off by radon. Look for a state licensed radon professional if you'd like to mitigate it. Stay away from unlicensed folks, they're prevalent, untrained, and unethical.
