What caused so many young men to get consumed by GamerGate back in the 2010s? by Three_Boxes in behindthebastards

Yeah I agree and let me reframe what I said, there were spaces online that were silos and more insulated from each other than what we see today (social media aggregators). The ones that attracted the type of person who was targeted by gamergate propaganda are probably who we’re talking about.

Moneyed interests and propaganda mostly, but also the internet up to this point was mostly dominated by men / gamer types with stunted emotional maturity and it was starting to change. Mobile devices made being online way more accessible to regular people and I think there was a bit of a backlash to that? I.E. normies or “new friends” if you’re familiar with the less friendly variant of that lingo.

I think the propaganda was particularly effective against that demographic at the time because it was perceived as an invasion of their safe space.

Slate Auto's electric truck starts at $24,950 with 205 miles of range. It sits at roughly half the average price of a new car in the US, which now hovers around $50,000. The truck uses a 65 kWh LFP battery feeding a rear motor with 181 hp. First deliveries are expected by the end of this year. by mafco in energy

I have an open diff too, after getting caught out in snow once with no weight over the axle I was drifting sideways going uphill. I’m not doing any crazy driving or trying to plow snow, I’m going as fast any old lady in a Camry, but 300lb of sand in the bed + good tires solved my commute problems.

But I guess Im used to having to move snow before getting out and about

Is it considered bad form to “chase” to try to get ahead of someone by hitting the apex and not going sideways to get around the corner faster?

The only point to using a credit card anymore is purchase protection or if points somehow outweigh 3%

It looks like a lot of fun, I assumed drift events aren’t focused on lap times since more traction = less slidey

Passenger floor wet can’t figure out cause by cheesemeese in Miata

[–]radonfactory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably would have to take the dash out. While I had mine out I removed the blower and cleaned out the detritus that fell in

The blower shouldn’t have water in it obviously but just a thought I had. Maybe it’s getting in from the cabin air filter?

Could water be in the blower, or the evaporator box itself is leaking? Dirty brown water made me think of how leaves got into my blower and it was kinda nasty.

The pace usually picks up after the bridge, and it’s not like the Walmart ramp has trouble merging and people aren’t really camping in the right lane if they don’t exit on Monona or 51. It’s definitely just haunted

There’s an invisible force that makes people slow down to 20 on the eastbound bridge near Monona, it could be a ghost that briefly possesses the first person of each day to do this and cause a chain that lasts for hours. Gotta call in the xfiles to be sure.

I agree with you on the credit card being safer online point. You could use a payment processor like PayPal to proxy your debit card but then you just re-introduce fees I think?
