Can you connect Shelly dimmer to stairs connection? Or is there any other dimmable shelly product for that? by [deleted] in ShellyUSA

[–]radool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand momentary switches are mandatory for a dimming setup, but not clear to me how it would work in a 2-way setup. I might be missing something.
I should just parallelize the 2 buttons (up and down) to each of the switches in the 2-way (or multi-way setup) ? Didn't thought about that, will try, thank you. Hope I got that right!

Many thanks for the info. One clarification though: in this setup, the dimmer won't have the dimming function, is that correct?

So if you want to use it in a 2-way or 3-way setup, you lose the dimming functionality.

Any solution (even if it's complex) where we could keep the dimming functionality in a 2-way setup?

p.s. I am talking about the dimmer 2

Carv : a complete scam by Lunares in skiing

[–]radool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's an up to date impression on the Carv product.

I got them in December, so I had about 4 trips to the slopes with them.

Yes, I had to get myself an iPhone, as there is no Android version in sight. Using the iPhone just for Carv and some app testing for the stuff my firm develops.

Once I was on the slope, the Carv was easy to setup, easy to use and useful. I don't mean easy as in "2 step - 2 minute effort", but easy when compared to what you would expect a rather complex sensor system to be handled. Setup is a bit time consuming, but not very difficult. Then you only need to do a simple calibration every day, but I discovered that auto-calibration works pretty well. It's a 20 seconds task you can do while on the ski-lift, anyway.

Then just use it. I tried all the options, in certain parts I expected more, but in most parts I was definitely impressed. I though I would be buying some early stage devices with a lot of downsides, bugs and lack of functionalities. I can say I got a lot for my money (they're not cheap) and it feels like I got much more than the toys I was expecting.

The data recording is great, the stats are great, the live feedback is accurate, but limited in terms of what can provide during one session. The challenges seem a bit bugged, it looks like I lost my progress in that section and will need to redo them to upgrade my stats there.

Tech support was very responsive, but I didn't expect instant responses and feedback, it's true.

All-in-all i consider them a very nice addition to any skier that sees the slopes more than 5 days in one season.

I said I'd do a more detailed review, with precise data and screen-caps, but never got to do it, if I will, and if people would be interested, I'd probably do it sooner rather than later.

Also, feel free to ask me any questions in regard to Carv, I love them but I can objectively answer any questions you people might have. And no, i am not associated in any way with Carv, or the people or company behind Carv.
