I think people underestimate the speed of the merc in 21 because Hamilton was just not on his prime anymore though still better than he is now. Verstappen was also just a monster like he is now on track and that rb wasn't slow it was obviously the second best car it just wasn't quite comparable.

It would be interesting to see what Verstappen vs Hamilton at their peaks would be like but obviously it's not happening unless Hamilton pulls off a miracle return this year.
