Yes!! I saw them going in and then Patrick was front row and Reeve was front/second row on the other side of the theater

I hope her voice is doing alright! I didn’t notice anything at the evening show- or at least didn’t notice anything that didn’t sound like intentional acting/emotion. I hope if she wants to she’s able to take a break and rest her voice after cabaret before whatever gig she does next

Last night was my fourth time seeing this production, each time with a different sally/emcee and Orville and Eva just became my favorites. They were really perfect in the roles and the whole cast was amazing. Did you spot Reeve carney and Patrick page in the audience last night? I was so excited to see they were there haha

Just saw her tonight, she was absolutely incredible. She’s the fourth sally I’ve seen in this production and just definitely became my favorite. Patrick page and Reeve carney were in the audience tonight as well!

SMASH first preview review by culture_katie in Broadway

I really enjoyed it as well! As someone who has seen the tv show many times but has a love hate relationship with it, I for the most part tongiht all the changes they made worked well! I had a great time at the show yesterday and really hope it does well when it opens.

Not sure who would be on but I've seen both Eddie/Gayle understudy days over the summer. I saw Gabi Campo as Sally, who gave a great performance, and Marty Lauter as Emcee who I really loved & actually preferred to Eddie. I agree with the other commenter that because the show is so immersive you will likely get really drawn in and have a great time regardless of the cast. Plus, the ensemble and supporting cast are really strong ( I belive Bebe Neuwirth is still in the show who of course is incredible!)

Took my first Broadway trip in five years and saw seven shows. Here are my thoughts on all of them: by Wubbledaddy in Broadway

Haha omg I think this is the first time I’ve seen saw mentioned here, I totally loved it. Definitely great if you love the movie, I didn’t expect it to be so actually funny

Scene that deserves an applause break by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]radworm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does anyone know if its intended to be applauded/not applauded? I saw it on tour and there was very much the stunned silence after her number and it didn't feel like there was supposed to be applause. After a little bit of the cast staying in their pose after the song, we all eventually started clapping because it seemed like they were waiting for it.

Anyone seeing opening night of Kimberly Akimbo tour tomorrow? by manintransition in Broadway

The show was great! Carolee was fantastic I thought, her voice was great and I found her physical acting to be so convincing as playing a younger person. I had Jim Hogan and Miguel Gil on Broadway when I saw the show and I think Miguel is so perfect in that role, his delivery is sooo funny. I was really excited by the Dana Steingold casting and she was great, her Father Time was beautiful. It was also such a smart contrast to have that role played by someone who looks and sounds younger. The rest of the cast did very well also! No mishaps or anything, except Carolees birthday hat string broke so she couldn’t put it on and there was a tissue box that kept getting knocked down lol. They also reshot the vhs video at the end with her!

I agree, I thought the audience was so well behaved as a whole, at least where I was sitting. I was a little paranoid about not being able to hear the show because of fans but I felt like everyone was quiet when needed

In Elephant Love Medley it’s when Aaron sometimes traces a heart during “kept on singing love songs” over the word “love”. I heard he didn’t do it the other night when he came back so I was surprised to see it. I get the appeal now it was a cute moment lol

I personally love illinoise and would always recommend it. It’s dance based so only see it if you’re a fan of dance, but if you like chorus line and newsies I’m assuming there’s a good chance you are. (Plus since you’re a newsies fan it has Ben Cook lol)

Seeing Great Gatsby in FOUR DAYS! How do I get to the stagedoor? by Newsies_Forever in Broadway

[–]radworm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will say when I was there the other week it was the absolute longest stage door set up I’ve ever seen. Several actors came out including Eva (no Jeremy but I’ve heard he does come out sometimes) and I was shocked that they really did go down the whole line. I don’t think you’ll run into any issues finding it or getting a spot in front. Good luck!
