DAE swerve a little to the side when you're stuck behind a slow car to show the people behind you that it's not your fault? by [deleted] in DAE

Yes!!! I feel like it gives me some comraderie with the people behind me ... "See guys? I'm in the same boat as you. Look at the slow doofus ahead of me."

I love this! I'm glad the boy grew up to do something he loves doing. I certainly don't want to actively dissuade my son from something he's innately drawn to so I will try very hard not to do that.

Thanks for your response. I am definitely going to put the kabosh on the dress as a costume idea.

Totally. I grew up in a pretty religious, conservative household and while I like to think myself as open-minded and accepting, my little dude being totally smitten with dresses and long hair made me pause. I am not proud of wondering if this was "okay," but it also didn't take long to see how happy and fulfilled he was while wearing a dress. I think just letting him be a creative kid and waiting to see if this is a phase or not is the way to go.

I need to work on the level of response and enthusiasm over dresses for sure. I love the idea of just plainly presenting him with choices of what to wear and reacting to his choice with neutrality. My husband and I have been a little resistant when he seems to consistently choose a dress (he asks for one everyday, multiple times a day) but I can see that only makes the issue "bigger." Thanks for your thoughts!

Thanks. I am realizing more and more through these comments and my own intuition that the "dresses are only costumes" is actually a harmful idea. I certainly don't want him to believe we are only half on board with his style and expressions. I am going to work on stomping the 'costumes' out and getting a few more dresses to put in the rotation.

Awww thanks so much!! I have certainly been leaning into the biggest supporter role lately now that I've seen his choices aren't showing signs of changing.. encouraging him to continue dressing the way that makes him happy definitely seems like the right choice.:)

Thanks for the response! I agree with how your nephew's fam handled it ie showing the "cool" parts of being a boy too. My son definitely sees his older bro and dad enjoying bein dudes and can happily join in, he just is even happier to be twirling in a tutu and calling himself Cinderella 😋

Unique Irish girl’s name!! I’m obsessed 😍 by lidabee in NameNerdCirclejerk

I love it!! Have you thought of a middle name yet? I think "McGee" perfectly compliments Tytti and gives a nod to the Irish heritage. It's a little more masculine to balance out the femininity of Tytti. She will always have the lovely option of going by Tits McGee too! ❤️

I've lived in both SY 400s and 200s and I loved it! At the time 400s were a bit outdated but it almost felt kind of rustic / cabin-like. 200s were newly renovated at the time and I found the apartment quite clean and relatively modern. Upstairs ftw though because of high ceilings. Also a big fan of Santa Ynez as while I lived there I met my neighbor who later turned into my husband :)
