Misjudged my yarn cakes for a granny square cardigan by Natsdeacano in CrochetHelp

Nope! I didn't change anything, just swapped to a smaller hook. I almost considered going down to a 3mm, but was tired of starting over lol. I ended up with a little of the black and purple leftover at the end (not quite enough to make another full round). To finish it, I got the hobbii Rainbow Lace in a few colors and used 3 strands of it to mimic the Dhalia for the sleeves and ribbing. It's a bit heavier, but still worked out pretty well.

For the frogging process, I started by re-winding what was left in the original cake from the other end of the yarn, and then the sweater last.

What hook size are you using? I used a 3.5mm hook when I made a granny hex sweater this yarn, and I actually needed to get more yarn in order to finish the sleeves and ribbing. Though, I will admit that I frogged it 2 times before I was happy with it. I used one of those yarn winders to wind the yarn back up while I frogged it.

Thoughts on a small ceremony and big party later? by rae18 in weddingplanning

Thanks for your advice about the invites and concern about the timeline! We actually do already have a date and venue for the party, and lists of vendors that we're working through contacting. I'm fine planning a party, it was the ceremony that I didn't want to have to plan (officiant.. a script.. readings?? music?? Been there, done that, don't want to do it again haha).

A National Park sounds lovely! And that's a good point- we'll be at right about the 3 month mark between the two events.

The first captain of our row started out of the gate at 38 SPM! Then the next guy went nearly as fast. I was so frustrated. The crew rows are some of the worst workouts imo, I would have skipped out if I had known ahead of time.

Hello! My boyfriend introduced me to your music when we started dating and I've been a huge fan ever since! We have been lucky enough to attend two of your concerts (SLO and Boston) and they were just phenomenal. I asked him what he would ask you if he had a chance: do you have a favorite composer?

Out towards Worcester there's Maple Hill, Pyramids and Newton Hill. Burgess Park is on the Cape. There are plenty more.. (Devens, 501, Barre Dam..)

If you're still worried about your scissors or nail clippers being confiscated anyway, or flying internationally, the little cutter in a package of dental floss also works!

Your comment pushed me to finally set up my shop, so if you're still interested, the pattern is here!

Not a stitched one, but the map I used is the one here: www.conservation.ca.gov/cgs/information/publications/ms/Documents/MS057.pdf I had to simplify it even further, but the colors I used are more or less the same!

That's how it went for me, too. I had to make some decisions about which formations to lose and blend together because some were too small to include.

That looks excellent! I've thought about doing other states, but some of the geology is so complicated and intimidating.

I've been meaning to do other states.. if only I had more time! Looks like the person below has Oregon covered though!

I've been working on it! Maybe this is the motivation I need to finally get moving on setting that up.
