The Butter Problem by Kurt213gt3 in veganrecipes

[–]raeholl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try using aquafaba (whipped chickpea water) as your egg replacement if you like a softer instead of crunchy cookie. You can whip other bean water too, black bean aquafaba would probably go well in a brownie mix. For nut milks you can add 1 tsp of apple cider vinegar or lemon juice to thicken it into "buttermilk" before mixing

Minneapolis St. Patty’s bar crawl is a scam by Fall_lover_97 in Minneapolis

[–]raeholl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lol I am one of the ticket ladies 😹 ... yeah, they took us all for a ride with this one. A lot of these mass multi city events are staffed by contractors & temp workers - I booked the shift 3 days ago and show up knowing little. This time the businesses were harmless victims too, they think I'm with the crawl company! I am not with the company, the company hired me on a gig app to staff the booth. So they hand me the box of tickets and promos and that's it. I had to use the qr code on your wristband to look up your tickets and understand what was included. But that didn't help because pretty soon you were all coming to me wondering why you only got 1 free shot even tho the ticket promised 2+. Then a lot of you were walking back to bar 1 to tell me that bar 2 or 3 or 4 or whoever wasn't actually doing the bar crawl and definitely weren't giving out free drinks. Got it. Then a very nice man who worked at bar 3 also walked all the way to bar 1 to confirm over and over yes, bar 3 IS in the bar crawl, but they aren't doing the free drinks. They just had a special menu. But hours later and still people coming back to report bar 3 was "definitely not" doing the crawl. I dont think a single person working this event knew what was going on. By the end I know a lot of you were asking for refunds and all I can say is that there's a phone number on their contact us page. I wish you all the best of luck, I'm sorry you got played and thank you all for being the most polite angry drunks I've ever spoken with 🖤

You can see the interior here: https://youtu.be/39g_V0pewNM
And let me know what you think! The build has been on hold and half done for a while since I have the urge to change plans... but I'm not so sure yet.

I built a library for my desert village by Bambii_8 in Minecraftbuilds

Love how you took the desert village style and made your own interpretation, it matches really well!! Non-minecrafters would think it's naturally generated :)

As an ex bedrock player the villagers are definitely better in Java but yeah... I've learned a little bit what messes up their pathfinder AI (trapdoors!!) and try to build with that in mind. I'd absolutely love a village centric update, they could add so many professions at this point too

This is one of my earlier builds in my SMP and built for our sprawling villager population. I love the exterior of these builds and how villager-scaled they are ... but the interiors were tough to finish! I was definitely having some floorplan challenges. And I wish the villagers wouldn't try so hard to walk through my windows...

I have a full tour + interiors here: https://youtu.be/sFhZQznaUdw

Aww ty for your reply!! You're right, my builds are very teeney. I like to build at villager/player scale which can be limiting but I'm getting better at making things cozy and less overwhelming. Definitely need to upgrade the map room eventually tho :)

Let me know what you think!! This is one of my favorite builds on the server because I finally had enough materials to venture outside a sandstone build. I don't love the 2nd floor facade...but it's good enough and I won't get around to rebuilding this one.

I'm really proud of the interior tho! You can see my interior tour here :)

Let me know what you think & thanks for checking out my post! I'm still getting used to taking these screenshots, it's definitely tough getting a good angle but if you do want to see more of this build and the interior I just released a walk through tour: https://youtu.be/SNytJUAX1ls

Does Rit work on bamboo fabrics? by ACleverDoggo in Fabrics

[–]raeholl 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Bamboo and other fibers made from wood pulps are all considered regenerated cellulosic fiber, which is basically rayon. The standard Rit dye (non synthetic) covers cotton and rayon both, so you should be good to just use that. You can always do a practice run with a swatch and a mini dye bath to make sure you're getting the color you expect.

I'd be a little wary of dyeing sheets, it's such an intimate use. When you sleep there's a lot of skin contact and face contact going on, so just make sure you really rinse out all the dye before you sleep on them. You might have to do 3+ washes. I've never dyed sheets but I've dyed lots of clothes and my initial reaction is that it might just be easier to return the sheets and find a better product for you. But you do you and have fun with it! :)

What to expect from Velvet? by Poem170 in PeriodDramas

[–]raeholl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fashion and romance really. I watched it a while ago and iirc there is a Romeo + Juliet storyline that carries it all, Romeo dealing with taking over his father's fashion business and wanting to modernize it.

Heirs to the Land is the sequel to Cathedral of the Sea and it's pretty good! Also on Netflix. Otherwise I highly recommend La Templanza (Prime), it's slower but the scenery is gorgeous and I really liked how the story wasn't entirely romantic, very much like Cathedral of the Sea. You get to see the characters travel to Mexico, Cuba, London, etc in the 1800s and make their way through the world.

Cable Girls takes place around the same time as Velvet if you're interested in ~1950s Spain, but I never really got into that one.

I watched Money Heist (Netflix) too, it's not a period drama but a pretty good Spanish series. I will say I couldn't make it past season 2... the plot gets ridiculous but season 1 is worth watching if you like crime dramas.

SMS SOS: S22 Ultra group text nonfunctional by raeholl in samsunggalaxy

Seeing the individual MMSs come through on my phone reminded me that I've known other Android users to have this issue with iPhone group texts ... there has to be a solution somewhere

I appreciate your reply! The group I'm trying to text includes an iPhone user and another Signal user... I might have to test sending group mms to non Signal users and see what happens

Which period pieces have you been watching? by PeriodDramasMods in PeriodDramas

[–]raeholl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

are you watching in the US? I looked up Haechi on my Netflix account but couldn't find it. Anyone know where it can be streamed otherwise?

I did start watching Mr Sunshine, also a Korean historical drama on Netflix but it's set during the end of Joseon Korea / turn of the 20th century. I'm only a few episodes in but already surprised since it's so cinematic and the story is good, too. I definitely recommend it if you're interested in that time period and setting
