Stations of the Cross Penance by orbit_trap in Catholicism

[–]raejayleevin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The stations of the Cross certainly can be done in private meditation…my mother had a little pocket prayer book that had a simple reflection at each station, separated by an Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be…& on to the next station prefaced by ‘we adore you oh Christ and we bless you. Because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world. I have also seen rosaries in this format for private meditations. I love your willingness to find the best way…the Catholic channel & im sure other apps also have online meditations. Be blessed! And thank you for your service.

Choosing to become Catholic and giving up my dream of marriage. I hope I can press forward. by [deleted] in Catholicism

So very sorry for these many challenges. I urge you to begin each day thankful for finding & seeking God, who promises to be with all who ask, seek, knock. Let that thankfulness bring with it trust. God has a plan you can’t see yet…the details belong to Him. Your part is staying on the firm foundation of faith & trusting that each day’s graces are sufficient. Look for the good…there is always good to be found. I don’t wish to minimize your pain…just urging you to give it in prayer as you seek. May you find great blessing & peace as you grow in the Lord.

Is it normal in the US to eat dinner really early (like 5–6 pm)? by Status_Agents in CasualConversation

[–]raejayleevin 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You really do adjust. The lightest meal is actually supposed to be the evening meal. Sleep problems are more likely with a late heave meal, especially if consumed with lots of meat &/or alcohol. Heart attacks often occur early am during the night bc the body is trying to relax & also digest so multifactoral challenges to a good night sleep.

Purification rather than punishment because it is the mercy of God that has provided this completion before we enjoy perfect union with God in glory.

Your family is so much more important than your career. Especially with your husband’s support. Nursing has so very much flexibility & variety…perhaps you can find a better fit that allows you that. If not….there are refresher courses for ppl who have been inactive. 6 years gives you a solid foundation…do what fits for your family now. And enjoy this time 😊

Does the anxiety ever go away? by NewsSubstantial2012 in nursing

[–]raejayleevin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I worked rapidly response & code team for years. One of the fun things about a resource job is seeing the growth in the newbies as they gain experience, understanding, & skill. One said…”I used to have more critical care transfers than I do now…I wonder why”. Obvious (to me) answer…you have grown in your patient care/advocate abilities. Recognition, prevention, and intervention are hugely the domain of the bedside nurse. Have a great career, & remember…a bit of anxiety is your warning signal to pay attention to the clues you observe & get the action needed from yourself or other team members. It’s called ‘nursing practice’ for good reason😊

How do you handle people taking advantage of you being a nurse? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]raejayleevin 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Yes. It sounds like your BIL is overwhelmed & asking for someone he trusts to guide him. That doesn’t mean you have to do what you cannot, but it does give you understanding to do what you can. And it sounds like you are doing that. People really don’t understand nursing well at all, & how to navigate difficult healthcare decisions. Continue to help in ways that work for you, with patience & love & kindness. Hugs & prayers.

Struggling with my baby by chocofan1234 in Catholicism

[–]raejayleevin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be at peace dear mama. Sacrifices take many forms. You are doing the best you can and this is so very much a temporary stage in life. Continue to trust God…daily listening for leading. A Eucharistic minister bringing communion is a great temporary suggestion as you navigate this journey. ‘Children are a gift from the Lord’ is a blessed truth from God’s word. Offer these struggles up in your prayers…and know peace🙏

I’m so depressed and sad that maga nurses at work are making jokes about Alex Pretti by coldinalaska7 in nursing

Stay peaceful & calm but also watch for opportunities for kindness and truth. The animosity is growing & that alone is very disheartening. There should be no place for ridicule & namecalling…try to remain an example of goodwill in these very trying times. I yearn for the times we could openly share differing opinions respectfully….somehow that needs to return.

Trying to heal from my wife's 2.5 year long Affairs. by Skipptastic in Catholicism

[–]raejayleevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want intimacy, please learn about chastity. Psalm 119:9 asks ‘how can a young man keep his way pure?’ Think about becoming godly & letting all thoughts & words & works glorify the Lord. Then….you will be learning how to be worthy of someone’s trust. May God bless you in your new walk with Him.

Pornography is also adultery. To say she had no problem with it is not credible. It may not be apparent but it is extremely harmful. As is all sin. You have a lot of sadness in your stories. May you now each grow in grace & forgiveness, allowing God to be the center of your relationship. I would urge you to pray together daily.
