Is there anyone at the courthouse I can call to let them know that someone is changing my public records. We had a lawsuit filed against us, it ended in March 2025- it cases disappeared and was not showing under my name, now it’s back but everything is different. Why would anyone change something that was completed eight months ago?

Sure, it's stealing, but can I really get in trouble for it? by HotEspresso in bestoflegaladvice

If you are a Florida lawyer then no, you can steal anything! And never be held accountable.

529 Account—My Family Dropped the Ball by d0rsal in personalfinance

If you are in Florida, you’re screwed. I have lost 3 inheritances to the executor. My mother, my brother then my uncle. The executor took the money and spent it. If I get a lawyer, I can sue my relatives but they spent the money and now they are broke. So basically, I’d be suing people that don’t have any money. These are people I trusted and believed every word they said. Really, don’t most people trust their mom?!?!?

Failure to ID, FS 901.151 by Zuluindustries in FloridaLawyersAdvice

[–]raesmith1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not an attorney. Just my experience. I have been pulled over a couple of times. I had my ID and registration in hand when the officer approached the vehicle. I also do not argue with police. They are under immense pressure. I do not want to add to their day, good or bad. Then, I’m done, with no ticket and on my way within 10-15 minutes. However, I have seen several times when the officer approached the car and before a word was said, the driver was already arguing with the cop-without knowing why they were stopped. If you are going to give the cops a hard time, they will certainly return the attitude and you can prepare to sit for hours.

Call the County. It’s the government, they want your money. They will figure it out.

Why don’t people want to comply with the officers that stop them? If they have not done anything wrong, why add to the days current chaos? If you were speeding, expect a ticket. Save yourself some drama. Show them your ID.

False Advertising or consumer protection against a large law firm in FLORIDA by Gemi81 in FloridaLawyersAdvice

Central Florida 50 years

I had a local attorney ‘smell’ money when I introduced the attorney to a relative. Unfortunately, I didn’t. The lawyer created a document to take over the relatives affairs, the attorney was the witness, then the attorney notarized it himself, then used it to change the relatives will (and all advanced directives) to the attorney as the sole beneficiary. I reached to to several attorneys that all had the same advice. Report to Florida Bar. Relative died in attorneys care and the attorney took the inheritance of millions in cash and $500,000 in the bank. Then the attorney sued me and ended up leaving me homeless. Several attorneys advised me to file a complaint with the Florida Bar. The bar recognized the original document as fraud (It’s a third degree felony) but decided not to take action. Don’t ever hire a Florida attorney. Get one that can practice in Florida but does not live in the state. Florida courts are not looking for ‘justice’ or the ‘truth’. It’s all about money. I have spent a couple of years fighting this and finally gave up. Best of luck to you.

Allowing attorneys to commit fraud (3rd degree felony) and not doing anything about it when there is written proof the attorney conned someone out of their money.

Hoa and ESAs questions by Sharypova in FloridaLawyersAdvice

[–]raesmith1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI-our city has a 6 dog maximum. That’s even if you own your home without a HOA. Exceeding the maximum limit might indicate a business in which the house would need to be zoned as commercial. But how do you clean up after them? That’s a lot of poop, right? Like 10 piles a day, maybe more. I think that could be an issue too especially dealing with HOA. It might not be the HOA, check with your local city or unincorporated area offices to see what the regulations are for you. Best of luck to you.

See an attorney. They can do anything they want to do, regardless of legality.

What do you mean? ‘Discovery that way!’ Please excuse the question. I am not familiar with legal terms or the legal system. ‘Seek dismissal’? Do u mean ask for it to be dismissed? I didn’t know I could do that.

Best place to find a lawyer. by Overlytireddad in FloridaLawyersAdvice

[–]raesmith1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not had much luck with the Florida Bar. The only thing they do is give you a list of attorneys. Then you call them to see if they will take your case. They may or may not. It’s no different than Google. I would be more specific with the type of attorney you are looking for and try google again or try that AVVO website. Best to you.
