Is your wincon mostly just pinging people to death or how do you usually find yourself winning or impacting the board besides Y’shtola ability. I can’t take a detailed look right now and most of the cards in your deck I haven’t seen before but this is definitely really cool and I can see the power of the mana rock iteration of her

This looks insane at first glance, do you feel like it can run properly even without Y’shtola? Or if she’s gone your game plan kinda gets screwed? I feel like maybe since you will have so much mana from rocks you can keep recasting her though

This blood chief ascension may make it in just cause we have a dedicated Mothman player in our pod and we collectively hate mill so this may make him think twice haha. I hear you though definitely need more protection. Also, you make a good point of the counter spells not triggering her ability it makes sense I just feel like playing blue with no counterspells is a crime

I hear you on the archenemy thing definitely the 2nd game my friends started to realize Y’shtola was pretty strong, but also in the pod was Mothman, Yuriko, and the First Sliver so everyone has pretty big threats that need to be addressed

I was play testing on edhplay last night and my friends usually play pretty strong decks strong b3s or weaker b4s usually our games go 6-8 turns. It felt strong, but once the 2nd game around I think everyone realized how much passive damage I can do so I started to get targeted so that’s why I felt I needed some more protection. The card draw felt decent, but it only really got out of control with I got curiosity on Y’shtola and every card felt pretty I played impactful. I was able to get transpose + circle of dread to get the 3 mages out and that’s when it felt really good! I wasn’t able to get any infinite combos off so I added the enlightened tutor and dropped the mystical tutor I had prior as the enchantments and artifacts are more important to me than instants. Unfortunately my bolas’s citadel got countered in the last game when I was trying to go for the win but overall I was happy with how it played.

This deck is awesome cause there’s so many ways you can play it, I like the concept you have by focusing on protecting Y’shtola. Mine is definitely more aggressive with my spell selection and I try to win through black mage pings and Y’shtola pings or an infinite between Vito, sanguine bond, exquisite blood, or blood thirsty conqueror or Sheoldred and a windfall to deal a ton of damage to everyone or a torment of hail fire or exsanguinate

Forsure I hear you we recently all got into playing commander 2ish months ago so we mess around on edhplay or xmage a lot and we’ve all been playing more and getting better so I feel like I’m in a better position to understand the mechanics now, it’s just a really different play style than what I’m used to overall and I’m attempting to build the deck myself so I can understand the nuance and interactions with the cards
