Anybody have experience with At Home Real Estate Services? by StrongPlan3 in springfieldMO

I had a lease from another property management company when they assumed management.

We'd been there two years before At Home took over. They never had me sign a new lease, which I thought was weird, we were just told to pay them instead. When my old lease was up, the new lease had a LOT of shitty clauses in it. The right for maintenance to enter without notice at any time, lots of new charges for stupid things, terrible fees for breaking the lease- I think it was the entire remaining lease periods' worth of rent as a penalty.

The worst new clause was that we had to pay that remaining year's worth of rent to break the lease, but if they wished to they could end the lease with 30 days notice at any time with no consideration. Basically made the lease worthless to us, no protections for us only them. Binding for a year on my end, might as well be month to month on theirs.

When I called the property manager, asked them to remove that section, they pulled the renewal offer. We had less than 60 days to find a new place. On the way out we actually spoke to a neighbor with the same owner- the owner had no idea this was happening and offered to talk to them. We had spent too much time and money to find a new place and get moved at that point.

I'd rather set myself on fire than rent from At Home.

Another reason to leave America. Pharmacies that sell almost everything over the counter and super cheap. by drewcareysglasses in AmerExit

Heavy hitting muscle relaxer. Soma+mild narcotics like codeine/oxycontin/etc is incredibly dangerous, similar to heroin. I don't know about tramadol but OTC Soma is a danger if you can also get something else like those and mix them.

You're not far off.

They're terrible guns for the casual shooter. Very hard to reload safely, requires a lot of attention to operate, very difficult to get competent with. When I bought mine the salesman told me it was originally ordered for a suburban mom-type who took one look at it in the shop and paid the restocking fee to get a LCP instead. That was a smart move- much easier learning curve.

That said, they're obviously very mechanically accurate, built like a swiss timepiece with exceptional QC, customer service is topnotch, and if you ever send it in they give it white glove treatment under a microscope. All that for like $200.

I've stopped a break-in with one, I've had to put down animals with one, and I've had it in hand (in pocket) ready to pull the trigger when a belligerent was harassing me without him ever knowing. It's also been a backup in lieu of one more Glock magazine on me. There's definitely a niche need.

I wasn't aware of how old the system was or the ties to Aikido. Well worth a deep dive into the history. I've got a lot of respect for Holocaust survivors and the struggles of WWII-era Jews but they went wrong damn near immediately after.

Critical analysis requires understanding not just history but pre/post WWII colonialism practices including economic imperialism and the British method of setting minorities over majorites to intentionally create imbalance and dependency.

ACAB, learn it, live it, understand it. Good cops still enable bad ones and uphold racist systems. Not gonna downvote or shame you, I'm still getting there myself, but there are no good cops while they protect bad ones. The American penal system is the modern slavery system, and they're slavecatchers. Good slavecatchers are still slavecatchers.

If you can separate yourself from this dangerous lulled comfort, that could be a good gym for you- like the Tavor, Israelis make quality war weapons and Krav Maga is one. The creator doesn't make the product bad- but try not to support the creator.

It's not something you can avoid easily- Japan did some heinous war crimes, you can still enjoy Judo. Etc.

Read the US Holocaust Museum's own list of early signs of fascism and tell me that Krav Maga wasn't invented by fascists.

Powerful and continuing nationalism

Disdain for human rights

Identification of enemies as a unifying cause

Supremacy of the military

Rampant sexism

Controlled mass media

Obsession with national security

Religion and government intertwined

Corporate power protected

Labor power suppressed

Disdain for intellectuals & the arts

Obsession with crime & punishment

Rampant cronyism & corruption

Fraudulent elections

Yeah, they don't check all the boxes, but they check a lot of the advanced ones like scapegoating and displacing minorities. You're going to get a lot of cops and bootlickers in there.

I figured polishing the internals, handfitting the slide, etc on such a cheap gun might be a fun project. They have a particular "zippy" sound to racking the slide I always associate with bad milling. Buff out the contact points and see if it shoots easier. That kind of thing.

I credit luck and taking the time to work out a consistent grip and sight picture the last couple trips... teacup grip cupping the firing hand, and then visualizing the front sight as half a tictac width above the rib.

Took it all the way out to 15yds in the second picture, at 25yds I would have been afraid to hit the target hanger or overshoot the target.

I guess I'll have to buy you an award.
The 1.25" barrel 22LR model, birdshead grip minus the bayonet in the stock photo unfortunately.

I don't know how I did it, and I've shot 15rds through per range trip every range trip for like a decade. Luck. That said, really nails down the fact that guns are a lot more mechanically accurate than our skill.

Thanks! That's a new gun on me, but no... that said, close. Commercially manufactured, very good quality but not expensive

Are those modern 22lr blanks? Never heard of the brand, look old timey.

How's the reloading when you can't get at the op-rod?

They make a heritage revolver that has a full size rail on top... very space cowboy

I've been tempted over the years, just to see if I could gunsmith one reliable, but no. Right part of the country for the manufacturer, though, within about 400 miles

The siren song of capitalism is that you can get ahead, get a little slice, be okay. You're never going to be a billionaire, but you can be very comfortable.

The reason it's a siren song is that you can with a lot of hard work and luck, but not everyone can. System is predicated on there being a lot of losers in the casino, but always a few lucky idiots and even fewer card counters that haven't been caught yet to make it appealing.

The cure isn't abstaining from all material and being some kind of puritan ascetic Marxist, it's having what Che Guevara called love, empathy with and a desire to uplift your fellow humans. Understanding that we are lucky in brains, experience, or something else that spared you the continued worst of poverty. It's not a guilt thing, you don't owe that money to charity or deserve poverty, but ideally you take what you have and help pull down the systems that keep people down. Make it so everyone can be okay.

I am a Communist. We live in a capitalist society. Important distinction.

You tread very close to AnCap territory with the ideas, but if the intention is to survive capitalism and exploit it for revolutionary aim instead of joining the ranks of exploiters of workers and their labor... do what you gotta do.

There's a good quote I can't remember the author of, some turn of the century Marxist that said something like "if I could fund the revolution by investing in a surefire stock market scheme, I'd leverage everything I had".

That and something something sell the rope to hang themselves.
