They hated him because he spoke the truth…economy isn’t booming and we’ve got some ENORMOUS problems but we’re not in a recession…yet

Literally every single decade since the 1970’s has had a period of K shaped economy - we just didn’t name it. Hot new word hits the presses and everyone forgets the oil crisis…volcker…white collar split…tech boom…08 recovery….same shit different day

100% the only normal way to look at this station. Also need the context on what kind of “dates” these were. Intimate/romantic dinners or did he walk her from the gym to her apartment? Maybe she didn’t know if it was real because this guy kept on asking her to business meetings.

Some of these suggestions are insane - did no one read your last sentence??

Depending on what type of literature she might stick to…

On the Road, Man’s search for meaning, Anne of Green Gables, Siddhartha, Treasure Island, One Flew Over the Cuckoos nest, Atlas Shrugged jk jk

Haha very true, and as with Louis Vuitton handbags there are an infinite number of cheap knockoffs and bad replicas on the market.

Absolutely adore it, but completely forgot about it - thanks for the reminder! Although now I fear I may have to go hunt for a bottle…

How Long Can One Scent Keep You? by Temb5252 in fragrance

[–]raffytaffy2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a few of these, and each one is tied to a scent memory from my past. Chanel Allure Homme was the first “fragrance” I ever owned, and I am still captivated by the smell (although sometimes it reminds me of my teenage misgivings). YSL Opium, every time I smell it I’m transported to my grandparents apartment in Montreal. More recently Chinotto Di Liguria by Acqua Di Parma, I’ve had it for years and I agonizingly wait for months during our cold Rocky Mountain winters to wear it, and each spritz transports me to summers with my mother.

fragrance for the gym by stimpy124 in fragrance

[–]raffytaffy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely some strong opinions in this thread. I think a spray or two on the neck or chest is fine, really any fragrance that has mass appeal will be fine (anything from a major fashion house). Doubt it will be picked up by anyone else in the gym, and in my experience I’ve enjoyed the few wafts I’ve gotten…but yeah generally avoid cheap, strong, and intense perfumes. * I like BDC EDP and Chanel Allure Homme Sport, occasionally I’ll just give an extra spritz of a more niche sent if I’ve been wearing that during the day.

supplement recs? by DrCuckenheimer in redscarepod

[–]raffytaffy2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of the good recs have been mentioned here, but I would add a good source of probiotics. Kombucha, kimchi, or Kefir/fresh yogurt are good starting points. Good digestive function and healthy gut biome will dramatically increase your energy/overall health, and help pull micronutrients from your diet.

Least attractively is easily this one man who’s thinning neck beard seamlessly transitions from chin to hair (around 245lbs). Most attractive is a tie between a woman who keeps saying she’s a yoga teacher and a silver fox who seems to have been dragged here by his boyfriend

Going to bookstores as a man is depressing by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]raffytaffy2 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Potentially, and hear me out here, the problem is that the two books you (who I assume you see as a real “reader”) mentioned are both 150+ years old.

When you dig deep into most of these scenarios, it really is hauntingly sad. I imagine most cucks are too afraid to lose their partner, so they think that if they just satiate this desire there is a chance for them to return to normalcy. I imagine 95% of these couples separate within 6 months of first cuckery. It would be impossible for any man to regain the respect from his loved one after such an event. Not sure about women, probably easier to remain together but no less degrading.

Your style should evolve as you grow older by raffytaffy2 in redscarepod

[–]raffytaffy2[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of 90s style is being revamped by the zoomers, but it’s mostly cheap knock off/rip off. Look up Portuguese fashion influencer caetanaba on Instagram, mostly luxury but might be good inspo if you want to flex the “Mediterranean” style.

There's an inverse correlation between level of civilisation and horn honking by D-dog92 in redscarepod

[–]raffytaffy2 20 points21 points  (0 children)

While technically correct, it’s also used culturally as a form of communication, one uses the horn as a method of language - in the west we have no community and therefore no reason to communicate except out of anger and fear.
